My apologies to the board for writing the word 'naughty word'.Mod note:

I don't think that's the point. There is a point about the age level that's appropriate for language. I know that I was reading D&D at age 9 and that would have made the book off limits to me at that age. I am forever grateful that some of the artwork didn't get it banned for me at the time.Because, as we know, tweens never curse.
I think the American PG-13 rating allows the F word to be said once in a movie, no idea how often the S word is allowed.Yeah, I'll be honest - I was surprised to see that in a book marketed for 12 and up.
I suspected it did, for the Slaad entry I actually checked the Planes of Chaos boxed set, and saw that they completely pulled the quote from there.I love how absolutely obscure some of these references are. The crawling claw entry has a quote from the 2e Ravenloft supplement "Van Richten's Guide to the Created", for example.
Well if we use the Cockney Rhyming slang that Planescape often used for words such as "Berk" being "Berkely Hunt" which rhymes with something. Is it naughty word or naughty word or something else?
Now I know that the 80s were a different time. However, Back to the Future is PG and it features the S word many times. It's the sort of thing you don't really notice when you're a kid yourself, but when you're sitting there watching with your own kids for the first time, they really stand out!I think the American PG-13 rating allows the F word to be said once in a movie, no idea how often the S word is allowed.
