Interesting.I voted against the Razorclaw Shifter, not Longtooth. My problem with the Razorclaw Shifter is that they have the same stat bonuses as elves, they have the same "fast nature-boy" theme as elves, and we already have elves in the PHB1 as one of the iconic races of the game. They're redundant. At least the Longtooth has a different stat bonus pair and a racial ability that emphasizes durability.
Interesting.
I really like their "speed-up" racial power, though, which is where they really differ.
I really like shifter fluff - if you want a bestial kind of race; this is a reasonable way to do it. I don't see them as particularly problematically werewolf like, but I suppose that could be a problem for some.Interesting.
I really like their "speed-up" racial power, though, which is where they really differ. I would have liked more than two shifter types, but the Razorclaw shifter is my fav of the two. I have a Razorclaw monk who routinely gets up to speeds of 12 / move (thanks to Dragonborn Greaves). I liked the 3e "faster" shifter too (can't remember what they were called any more!), and feel that it offers more than a simple old shoot-bows-well elf![]()
