Ratio of male:female gamers (was forked "DDM: Chicks not in chainmail")

4:1(my little sis) in our group, she's played DND for 10 years.

I've had interest from one of her friends in playing, but the rest of the group was against it.

ASIDE: One of the funniest gaming intrusions happened to us when ten, very well dressed - as in high heels and short skirted - girls trooped into the kitchen while me and my group were playing there. It was in my Mam's house. It was my cousin and her friends and they had come for my sister - who had forgot she was going out with them and rushed upstairs to get ready.

We had all our DND gear all over the kitchen table as they all leaned against the kitchen counter top and an uncomfortable silence settled on everyone (15 people). The lads are usually a bit secretive about gaming and this all looked very-ultra geeky.

"So," my cousin says," this is Dungeons and Dragons eh?". Urgh.. It still brings a smile to my face - and I cringe a little.

This thread just brought back that memory. Ahh good times.
