Real-life Prestige Class undertaken

Warning, personal blather ahead.

The California Bar *finally* quit toying with me and approved the last of my paperwork. I took my oath yesterday and have now started my first level of the Attorney prestige class!

I don't get any more hit dice, but I do receive flurry of paperwork, cease and desist and exotic weapon (briefcase). I do unfortunately have a -4 reaction from members of the Doctor prestige class, but I do get a +2 on Intimidate and +4 Bluff.

Wait until you get your second prestige class later: Politician.

Undetectable Lie, Control of Masses, Money Laundering.... etc... Big bonuses to diplomacy and bluff... Alignment restrictions: Non-Good.

(I wish I could put my Real Life "Race" choices (in fact nationalities)... but it would be considered "political" for this board... :)

Congratulations. Welcome to the fold. I've been a member of the class since Oct. 20.

Hello,

The PrC does have its combat abilities, too. If the recent TV news is any indicator, Attorneys can dodge bullets like Neo in The Matrix. Well, at least against guys who can't shoot for beans... Dude emptied a full cylinder at the Attorney, who was standing about a foot from the muzzle, dodging for his life with only a tree about a third his width for cover. Attempted murderer, after this crime, stashes the empty weapon in a big bag he's carrying, and strolls off almost nonchalantly. A group of bystanders gang-tackle the dude and wrestle him down after the victim calls for some help and points the guy out. I think it was Court TV that got all this on camera, as it happened outside a courthouse they were covering for some reason or other.

May your own dodging abilities never be put to such a test.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that was one of those attorneys. What was actually witnessed was one of the more vulgar uses of the Vile feat Improbable Causality.

The attorney PrC receives few bonuses, which is why so many attorneys end up with Vile feats. This is to say civil law attorneys. Most criminal attorneys, by my understanding, have taken a Vow of Poverty.

Congrats. I just finished my first year. It's tough, the first year, but you'll learn a lot.

I believe Mistwell practices in California, too.

So, spill the details:

Is one of the prequisites for joining the class "Must not possess soul", or do you loose it when you join it, along with your humanity?

:) Congrats mythago! :)

Will you be following the Judicial Tree? They have a Branch in the government... :D
