[sblock=tactics]I'm leaning towards piling on the panther. I think we stand a decent chance of dropping it.

I'm also, reluctantly, leaning towards not using Ikni's daily interrupt when the panther hit her this last round. That -5 to hit really hurts, and it wouldn't prevent the damage anyway, whereas it might if we pile on the panther this round. Thoughts?

Only downside to ganging up on the panther is that it might bunch us up some. If the dragon comes back for a strafing breath run...

Ironheart staggers towards the river. "STAY DOWN?" it roars. "I WILL STAY DOWN WHEN - URGH!" It grunts as it hurls itself into the air to plant its roots in the far bank. "I WILL PLANT MY SAPLINGS IN YOUR RIBCAGE, YOU DUNGEATING FLY!" It shakes its head violently, causing leaves to rustle, and then charges.

[sblock=Actions]
Start of turn: Save vs Daze (1d20=5)
Standard: Charge to J14 (passing through P14 to get 2 squares runup, which means I automatically succeed my athletics to leap the river) and attack with Warden's Lunge: Warden's Lunge vs Dragon (attack: +1 charge, +2 Fearsome Ram) (1d20+9+1+2=22, 1d10+10=11) Boo. If AC 22 is a hit, I do 11 damage and regain 5 hp. Either way, it's still marked. (Not pushing it, want to keep adjacent.)
End of turn: Save vs Daze (1d20=16)

The stat block assumes that was a miss.

This would've been the perfect time to Intimidate. If only I weren't dazed, I could've moved adjacent, marked and still used it. Next turn, maybe.

Ikni nods thanks to Rhole and staggers to her feet, ready to charge after the panther.

[sblock=actions]Move: stand
Standard: ready action to charge panther if it comes into range. Assuming Ikni can tell where it is, that is; she's still blind whether or not "the end of her turn" happens before her charge.
16 vs. AC for 10 damage; that probably misses. And it didn't include blindness in the roll, either.

save vs. blindness: fail. Crap.

"Netari's power is too great for you, dragon. Surrender or be destroyed." Perhaps it will think I missed on purpose.[sblock=Actions]Minor: Sustain Astral Condemnation (96 damage prevented so far - almost there!)
Move: to P11
Standard: Shield Bearer, 16 versus Reflex, 14 damage. I don't think the dragon has cover relative to me from where I'm standing, but it probably doesn't matter. If that hits I'll put the shield bearer to Ironheart's left.[/sblock]

Rhole, whenever you're not feeding potions to people, please make Heal checks to give Ikni more saves!
That would probably be a waste of a Standard Action; Rhole has a +2 on Heal and you need to make a DC 15 check.

Now that he finally can see again, he's likely better off Blunder'ing the dragon into Ironheart. (thus healing them both)[/sblock]

Haruka calmly moves along the river, whispering inaudibly to the dragon as her shadow extends and wraps around her. Flames dart from her fingertips, scorching the air around the reptile, but failing to hit their target. She glares at her fingers, clearly annoyed.

[sblock=Actions]Move: Move to S16, retaining concealment.
Minor: Curse the dragon.
Standard: Hellish Rebuke the dragon. Somehow, I don't think a 14 Reflex is going to cut it. Well, if it does, 14 damage, and 8 more if I take damage before the etc. etc.

Would have attacked the panther this turn, but I couldn't get into range.[/sblock]

The Great Ultra-Intense Thundering Audio Ripper goes quiet. Somehow, everything goes quiet when Rhole stops playing to stare at the crumbled and quickly disintegrating remains of his trusty gargoyle-like partner.

“You can’t die, Rock! I won’t let you!”

Even as the gnome moves to save another of his band members, his eyes remain fixed on the dragon. The usual enthusiasm and delusional stardom-attitude has been replaced by seething rage, and Rhole’s hair is poised and vibrant like angry snakes that have come alive.

“You know nothing, you scaly off-key yapping bastard! YOU CAN’T KILL ROCK!

Somehow, that statement seems more profound to you than it might seem offhand. After reviving Ikniqpalagaq, Rhole strums up a heartfelt melodic song. An ode that reaches out with such feeling, that the very remains of Rock are stirred as if they would obey their master.

Haruka calmly moves along the river, whispering inaudibly to the dragon as her shadow extends and wraps around her. Flames dart from her fingertips, scorching the air around the reptile, but failing to hit their target. She glares at her fingers, clearly annoyed.

The dragon opens his mouth and unleashes at blast of coloured energy, but this time Ironheart's rage shields him from it's debilitating effects. The dragon curses in draconic and then flies away, Ironheart swings at the departing foe, but his axe just misses. The dragon curses "This isn't over. You shall learn of your folly later" as it lands atop the high rock face.

The panther sees the dragon begin to fly away and spots the enemies arrayed against it. With a full run it retreats to the south. Ikni tries to rush forward and catch it with a final blow, but the creature keeps moving, ducking under her blade at the last moment.

Dragon - Uses Prismatic Breath on Ironheart - vs will; radiant (1d20 9=12, 2d6-2=9) miss...

Flies away - vs ac; dmg (1d20 9=19, 1d10 11=20) - he's at current spot. It's 20' up the rock wall.

Panther - not invisible this time - Double Run - full retreat! - he's in AN4

Those in the water, please make an Athletics DC 18 roll on your turn, else you are pushed 3 squares to the west.

The DC to climb the rock wall is 20 (15 for uneven surface + 5 for slippery surface)

[sblock=Hmm]
I think 16 squares of move gives me enough to climb the cliff and charge him, even assuming it's difficult terrain on top - or it may be 1 square short, I'm not sure.

Actually, it seems unlikely I could climb the cliff while carrying this axe, and it would take an action to stow and another to draw, which doesn't leave me with enough. Nevermind.

Or I could pull out a javelin, but that seems out of character at the moment.

I was considering trying to intimidate him into surrendering and letting us question him instead of flying away, but then I looked at the chart, and I don't have to hit Will+5, I have to hit Will+10! That seems unlikely to work.

Rhole gallops after the dragon, spitting angry curses. He slowly brandishes the Great Ultra-Intense Thundering Audio Ripper like a siege weapon, carefully levels it at the beast, and with a single powerful flourish lets the hair-strings wail like they never have before.

In response, a mighty sonic boom explodes near the dragon, signifying that it was just bombarded with massive concussive force that leaves thunderous echoes in its wake.

“There’s plenty more where that came from, you cowardly lizard! Hold still and die!”

[sblock=Actions]
Move: To Q13.
Standard: Ready Cutting Words when a foe is in range.
Minor: Ghost Sound at G20 (as close to the dragon, as possible). Rhole is making it seem as if he is shelling the dragon with significant sonic force.

NB. Rhole saved vs blindness last turn.

I considered Intimidation myself, and also ended up finding it unlikely to work. Ah well, the dragon might get away but we won the encounter all the same. :)
