D&D 5E (2024) Rogue abilities help

Can you not take origin feats as a general feat? If I don’t get reliable talent until 7th, I could just take skilled at 8th
you can, hopefully, DM will add +1 ASI to origin feat if taken at 4th level as no origin feat is worth +2 ASI
also, all 4th level feats could be origin feats if you remove +1 ASI from them.

whole split was made needlessly so "new" players are not "overwhelmed" with options.

Regarding Arcana as a skill. It just doesn’t make sense in this campaign for my rogue to have certain skills. Magic is so rare and there would never be an opportunity to learn it unless the other PC wizard started teaching it. Currently, I have 7 skills ticked off the list. I can’t really think of another useful skill I’d need.

Athletics
Acrobatics
Deception
Investigation
Perception (expertise)
Sleight of hand (expertise)
Stealth.

Athletics AND acrobatics is probably overkill with having the thief climb speed ability. I forget why I took both.

I suppose persuasion and insight would be useful but, honestly, our PCs are all thugs. It’s almost more enjoyable to not be able to relate to people as we simultaneously try to set up networks.
