Rogue1/PsionX feat selection help!

First Post
I'm hoping you guys can help me out.

I want to make a Rogue1/PsionX (but taking the rogue level first, with the rest going into Psion:Shaper)

The concept of the character being a more versatile/survivable main spell caster (almost ninja-esk :p , (elf: str11/dex16/Con10/int16/wis10/cha8 - 25 point buy)).

I'm also Choosing my Discipline to be "Shaper" because I would give me access to Astral Construct, while still giving me access to many explosive Psychokinesis Powers.

So.. what should I do with my first feat at level 1?
I ask because I cannot get any psi or metapsi feats as I am only a rogue at this point (as discussed in another thread), but being that I am "really" a spell caster (Psion), most of the normal feats I have access to as a rogue won't do my any good.

(I was thinking Wild Talent (for the 2 pp), but that seems like a waste as at higher levels, 2pp is not worth much... though it would make for an interesting character background)

I've only looked at the SRD a couple times, so I would want more experienced analysis, so please give me your suggestions!
How do you see me progressing as I level? Suggestions on powers/feats?

Thanks! :D

Is that a House rule though? I'm trying to make this as "vanilla" as possible :)

I wanna go by the book :D

It's not a house rule. A 1st level Fighter could take Empower Spell as one of his feats, although he would get nothing from it until he had gained a number of caster levels.

A non-psionic character cannot learn psionic feats, but metapsionic feats are in their own category and have no prereqs (like the metamagic feats).

Improved initiative is usefull for anyone, and more so to a character with sneak attack. It will serve you well even as a first level character. Point blank shot (and eventually precise shot) are very usefull if you are planning to go with ranged touch attacks, and Hail of Crystals and crystal shard are both good offensive powers. Again, ranged touch is the way to go to maximize your 1d6 sneak attack... a small but efficient bonus.

Not quite what you are talking about, but you might want to take a look at the Psychic Rogue on the WotC page. It's a rogue with psionic abilities (kinda like the Psychic Warrior, just not a fighter, but a rogue).

Doh... XP penalty...

Hmm... Just noticed something, if I multiclass as elf Rogue1/PsionX, do I have XP penalties since neither Psion nor Rogue are the Elf's Favored Class?

Or can I use the Magic/Psionics transparency to interperate the Elf favored class as Wizard/Psion?

If not... Suggestions?
The idea was to become survivable+sneaky artillery... :(

Yup.

No.

What's more important to you, Rogue/Psion or Elf? You could also go Half-Elf, if not Human or one of the new psionic races in XPH.
