You know wulf, I've spent all day trying to come up with a rebuttal to your post.

The only thing I can come up with was how annoyed I was when you assumed I couldnt hack math. (For the record: until I started misquoting my statistics course, I actually hadnt mathematically worked it out).

Still, for me, Id rather spend the feats on other things than one more shot or swing of the sword. Look, in the original thread, we were encouraged to be as petty as we could be. So in the end, logical arguments dont cut it. From now on, I'm voting with my gut and avoiding any arguments where I might get proven wrong.

Been happening a lot lately...

Well, actually I said petty reasons are just fine but essentially you're right. Feat Survivor votes can be motivated by lots of different issues - perhaps just which feats you use most or enjoy using in your game. You might feel that a lot of the most 'powerful' or 'useful' feats are really boring, or too bothersome to integrate into a game, (or are just plain smelly.

Improved Initiative must die, or I´m gonna run to momma and cry. You heard it here first.

Why does this excellent feat deserve such hate?

I mean, at least it's useful to more than one character type. Ditto with Weapon Finesse. These are feats that could be taken by a lot of different character builds and add a lot to them.

Power Attack, meanwhile, rides the lightning of being a feat that only one narrowly defined archetype can get use out of. I don't care *how* ubiquitous it is, it forces people to cleave to a stereotype and demands that they become more specialized. Any feat that allows for variety and wide use, IMHO, completely dominates any feat that only one member of the party will ever take.

That's part of the reason the archery feats have lasted so long, I think. They're useful to anyone who makes ranged attacks (most of the characters), and especially useful for characters that focus in it (like rangers or spellcasters or rogues).

Power attack?! Pheh. Call me when the wizard can use it to as much effect as the fighter. Improved Initiative is much, MUCH more useful to many, MANY more characters.

Food for thought - Arguments in favor of Rapid Shot are filling this thread with math.

Torches and Pitchforks friends! On to Castle Rapid Shot! :p

Heh heh... Well, the artist thing was just an educated guess. Playin' the odds, man... just playin' the odds.

(For the record: until I started misquoting my statistics course, I actually hadnt mathematically worked it out).

NO! Really?

Ok, ok, end of snarkiness.

From now on, I'm voting with my gut ...

Nothing wrong with that. I just hate to see folks disparage the -2/-2 feats (and flurry attack, too) and avoid them needlessly, especially when... [sniff] that extra attack could save the lives of countless PCs.

Won't somebody please think of the PCs?

I only wish I'd joined the thread in time to save Cleave.

Anyway, I just wanted to make sure Precise Shot fell before TWF. Mission accomplished. I didn't even vote last round-- they're all good feats from here on out.
