Look I agree with you guys on what the rules of 5e say but please don't try to use "realism" arguments to "prove" that those rules are the correct way to do it. The 5e rules (just like other editions) are simply gaming rules to add some tactics to the game and there are many ways to do it.

I am not interpreting the rules just proposing an alternate rule. I would agree with your interpretation of RAW.

Yes, i'm simply saying your take/interpretation/explanation/angle makes sense to me even if I prefer another.

I wasn't trying to prove anything, as the rules speak for themselves. I was only trying to provide a way to think about what the rules represent. Believe me, trying to inject realism into the game will never be my primary goal.
