Saying "yes" to players; also, turning cross-class skills into class skills

I'd say no to everything. Switching Wis for Cha may initially seem 'mostly harmless', but I'd be afraid he'd later pull some crazy stunt utilizing obscure feats or prestige classes.

It's better to say 'no' right from the start. If you start saying 'yes' now, it will be more difficult to say 'no' later when he comes up with further changes that aren't as harmless.

I used to GM this way in a relatively strict, no exceptions manner but over time have worked to move to more of a 'yes' style (within reason). Generally I just make it known things are a case by case basis and let the player know just because the answer is yes to something this time does not mean it will be next time. It has worked well so far and contributed to a good, fun-spirited game. May not work for everyone though, I suspect a good deal depends on the players as well.
