Scotley's Tomb of Horrors 3.5

"Aye, that be a challenge good friend, you need to show this human, goody two shoes what a real dwarf can drink." Fin says with a wink to Logan as he raises his mug and sips on its contents.

OOC: ooops! So, then, do we make our foray to the tomb soon?

OOC: SirCaith is busy just now redressing the failings of a co-worker, so unfortuantely a role-playing opportunity is lost in the interests of moving the game along unless he can manage to slip online before the evening is up. Post coming later tonight.

The next morning.

Geolan, the dwarven head of the watch himself, comes to oversee the capture of the prisoners and take your statements. The local law takes away the prisoners and after a night of drinking or just resting the party finds itself at breakfast. Now the question of what to do next is raised. Kailee, the innkeep, informs you that she is in contact with some of the local lizard folk and that they can serve as guides to the area where the tomb is believe to be located.

"Please, Gentle Lady, make inquiry for us of the scaly folk who might be able to help us to find the goal of our quest!"

harrison is eating heartily when the lady arrives with the helpful advice. he drinks some ale to clear his mouth of food, wipes his mouth on his sleeve and asks, "how trustworthey are the lizard folk? I hear they can be just as mercenary as our guests form last night."

"Of course, I am not recommending that we place any trust in them, and in fact, I think it would be very advisable to keep them very much at arms length with regard to our plans. Perhaps we could tell them some story of our own fabrication regarding our reasons for going there? It would seem to be difficult to get them to beleive such a story, however, we can but try. If we are successful in our quest, the last thing that we want is to be greeted by a vast horde of greedy lizardmen when we emerge from the tomb!"

Kailee

"I suppose a healthy caution is advisable given the events of last evening. And in truth, the fellows I have in mind are a bit mercenary in outlook. You must understand that most of the folk here will not go any where near the suspected location of the Tomb. The whole area has an evil reputation. The lizard folk think it is cursed and I can attest to the fact that it is filled with loathsome monsters. I have seen giants and trolls in the area myself. I believe the fellows are about if you want to venture forth today or tomorrow. They already know a little bit about this I'm afraid. They helped Ambrose scout out the location of the place. They only know he was interested as a scholar seeking old papers, which they have little use for. However, if paid well they are willing to go near if not into the Tomb."
