Scotley's Tomb of Horrors 3.5

Logan Lightbringer, Cleric9, AC28,FF27T17,HP76/76, DR3/-, F+9,R+4,W+11

Logan tries to look nonplussed, and when he thinks that no one else is looking, he sticks his tongue out at Grackle. :p "Thanks, Garagos, but priests make mistakes, too, you know," he says with a wink. ;)

Prior to going into the tomb, Zorn casts False Life on himself, thereby increasing his chances to survive.

false life (1d10+9=12)

current hp=60
AC=13

Then, once inside the tomb, he rolls his eyes at the juvenile antics of his traveling companions, wondering what Ambrose could have possibly seen in them.

Could we please stay focused on the task at hand? he implores.

Jillian Tealeaf, Rogue9, AC25,FF19,T17, HP37/37, F+4,R+13,W+5

Having searched all along the corridor and finally the door, then allowing the others to remove the cobwebs, Jillian at last decided to check the door to see if it was locked. Then, if it was indeed unlocked, she opens the door.

A Trap!

Seeing no lock, Jillian tugs on the door, and hears an ominous click. She instantly realizes that there must have been a trap on the door she missed, but now it is too late. There is only a blank wall behind the false door. The ceiling groans and starts to fall raining boulders on everyone. (damage (16d6=67) or DC23 Reflex save for half).

OOC: Logan also is too slow to dodge with a modified 10 for his save. reflex save for collapsing ceiling (1d20+4=10)
Luckily he still has 9 hp remaining. Eeek.

OOC: This is going to be a VERY short game, Scotty! hehe

OOC: I'm thinking that Logan can spontaneously cast Raise Dead/Resurrection, since that's the ultimate healing spell. Correct?

Garagos, AC 29 (T19, FF27), HP 38/107, DR 3/-, F +11,R+6,W+10

"[...] rogues not finding traps. We should have stayed outside untill he opened the door." Garagos grumbles as he frees himself from the rocks that had fallen on him.

[sblock=OOC]Reflex Save (1d20+6=18)

Never be in the same room as the rogue... I assume the DR helps?

OOC: Don't sweat it too much, Arkhandus. If you read back over the posts, I think you'll see that Scotley was entirely justified in the outcome that we suffered. Just for the record, my own, personal impression is that we were all in the passageway like a big cluster of dumb-butts when the trap was sprung, too. Not to worry about Grackle THIS time! Logan can, assuming that we can get a ruling from Scotley that Raise Dead is, in fact, considered a healing spell (duhh), Logan can spontaneously cast it and bring Grackle back to us. At this rate, however, Logan ain't going to be able to keep on doing that too many more times, and, even worse, he's liable to be one of the dead ones one of these times real dang soon! He just lucked out this time.

OOC: Are you telling me that all, or most, of you other players have never been through the Tomb of Horrors before? Sheeesh! I am OLLLLLLLLD!!!! (Which is good for Scotley because It's been so many years since I went through this module that I can't remember any specifics about it. Like, for example, I had no idea this ceiling was gonna collapse on us. But, in all fairness, even if I did know, it would have been totally improper meta-gaming for me to have Logan benefit from that knowledge.)

I trust that Scotley will forgive me for this one word of warning about the Tomb of Horrors: ANYTIME, and I mean ANY TIME, that characters touch, open, move, or otherwise mess with any wall, door, chest, object, or architectural feature of this dungeon, there are likely to be dire consequences for all concerned unless a THOROUGH scan of said object has been sucessfully done immediately prior to said interaction. Forgive me now, Scotty?? :D (If you'd prefer, I'll edit and remove this warning.)

I guess...Grackle dies? HP -10/57

Reflex versus falling boulders? (1d20+9=19)

(OOC: I didn't know we were all inside, I thought just Jillian was to check for traps and such...ook. Grackle would've used his Wand of False Life before actually going inside....ook)

OOC: Leif if correct. A careful reading of the posts reveals--Ballista did enter (specifically near the middle of the group) and then when Grackle got the torch he went to her. That puts Grackle inside. However, to quote Miracle Max "It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead." -10 isn't dead, just mostly dead. You can make a stabilization roll. We'll see how everyone does, I may have to let Logan swap out spells for some raise deads. This is a very deadly adventure with a well deserved rep for tpk's.
