[September] What video games are you playing?

Since I'm here, and this thread doesn't exist, I'll start one for this month. :)

Just today, I picked up Dark Age of Camelot at Wal*Mart. A friend of mine has been trying to get me to play it for a week or so now, and I finally gave in and bought it. Even after just 5 hours of playing time, I'm completely hooked.

I'm also be-bopping around with Battlefield 1942 and BF1942 Secret Weapons of WWII (Demo), playing both on-line. I'm really liking SWoWWII's German Sniper Rifle; it's semi-automatic. You can stay zoomed in on a target and pelt them and their friends with up to five shots before reloading. There's few things more satisfying than wiping out an entire enemy base with five head shots in a row! :D

So, what's everyone else playing this month?

I'm waiting until later this month for The Temple of Elemental Evil to come out (Last I heard, the release date was September 23). In the meantime, I'm re-playing Icewind Dale 2.

Still playing F-Zero GX. It's got that addictive old school difficulty -- weaksauce gamers need not apply.

It's nice to see some companies can churn out a truly difficult (but fair) game in these days of auto-saves, cheats, and watered-down challenges.

I'm currently shopping around for new games while I wait for my NWN: Shadows of Undrentide to show up. In the meantime, I've been hitting Black & White pretty hard (I love that game) and playing a bunch of different demos (Unreal Tourney 2003, Mechwarrior 4, Call of Duty, Civ III). I've also just downloaded America's Army, but I don't know if I'm going to like it too much.

The Legend will NEVER DIE. Soul Calibur 2. It CONSUMES ME.

Suppose we should go play Shadows of Undrentide at some point, but it just hasn't been calling to me, lately. The worst thing about SC2 is that it keeps me from playing KOTOR and Mario Golf or finishing Metroid Prime.

And Otogi beckons from the store, but I must resist it's pull.

For now.

I hear that. Ever since I downloaded a video review I have wanted this game. I may wait for a price drop or even *gasp* give it a rental as it looks like a quick weekend game.

I'll be getting Final Fantasy Advance as soon as I know I'll have time to play it. :D And speaking of FFT, Disgaea looks awesome. I may even get that first depending on my mood.

As for games I'm playing: Out of the Park Baseball 5, Madden 2004, SimCity 4 (getting the expansion the day it hits) & FFXI Beta.

I played the demo of Otogi on the XBM monthly disc...and I instantly knew it would be MINE. When I heard that some folks consider that to be a lousy demo of the actual game, well...it must be pretty nice.

It's one of the prettiest games I've ever seen, and the fire effects are some of the best I've seen.
