[Serenity RPG] Across the 'Verse: Introductions

Tatjana

Her gaze following Aaron, Tatjana keeps behind the cover of the entrance for now. Only when she is sure that things seem to go smoothly for the moment, and Merk is thoroughly distracted, she enters and looks for a place where she cannot easily be seen by him.

Tatjana enters the pool hall, and no pool cue blocks her entry. Instead, she immediately attracts the kind of attention she's used to getting from the nearby male patrons. She handles them in whatever way she chooses easily enough, although a few pretty blatantly follow her to her selected booth. The worn plush bench is around the stage from the pool table where Aaron and Merk talk while watching two other men play a game. She can seen them well enough through links of the chain screen that separates the stage from the hall, but those links should be good enough to obscure her from the vision of someone not actively looking through it. It would be difficult for Merk to see her here, even if he turned around. Although the real distance between her and Merk and Aaron is not great, she thinks the coarse drunks vying for her attention might impede her some if she had to move quickly.

Aaron grins, "Cue might loose, but I never do. I'd say Paula and me are at a draw wouldn't you? And she'll have a lasting memory of what's happened." He sips his drink as Cue's opponent sinks a couple of balls.

"I don't plan on leaving the score where it is, and my employer be mighty dissapointed if I did. Figured you can help me out there. Where's she likely to be keeping the girl? And whose jie?" The smoke in the air is distracting him and he pause to light a cigar. He offers Merk one as the other player misses his shot.

"Now don't missunderstand, info you have is useful, but I have others means of obtaining it. But I'd rather reward a P'n Yoh for favours rendered."

Cue shoots and a rickochet knocks in one of his opponents balls. "Jao Gao," he mutters, 'he's even worse then I thought', Aaron thinks.

Tatjana

Sitting in her booth, distracted by fending off the occasional advance, Tatjana just waits for Aaron to finish talking to Merk. Things look good from her perspective, so no need to intervene. She stays ready to do so, however, should she be needed.

An older waitress shoves one of the men standing by Tatjana's booth out of the way and addresses her: "What'll it be, Red? Half dozen of these chwen say wanna buy you a drink - my advice is pass, and get your own, but it's your platinum."

While the Waitress is talking, Tatjana sees, beyond her, the other guy from the fight come out of the men's room, a huge ice pack wrapped around his left hand and wrist. He sees Aaron and Merk, who's backs are to him. Apparently, he has not yet noticed Tatjana. His face registers surprise, then anger, and he starts moving towards the pair of men.

Meanwhile, Merk seems to be considering Aaron's words. "Boys here ain't dumb. They're bastards, but they ain't dumb. They seen you here - seen you talking to me, dohn ma? They tell Paula who talked to you - what good's my money then?"

Tatjana

“Just tell them I don't drink. And bring me a soda please, with lemon, if you have. Just put it here. Thanks! Be back in a minute. Just spotted an old friend.”

Then Tatjana gets up and slips through the small crowd, trying to get into the back of her ‘special friend’ to close in from there.

When she manages, she will put one arm around his shoulder, like a friendly hug, taking a firmer grip on his good arm with her other hand, while telling him to relax.

Aaron leans in and says quietly, "Simple, get angry. Get angry and punch me in the stomach. I'll meet you at the alley behind Reileys restaurant in about 20 minutes, half-an-hour. Consider your winnings a down payment."

I assume that beating an average difficulty is enough to know where Tatjana is and to have notice Mr broken hand. Hence the above actions. He plans to swear, stumble towards the waitress and Tajana and get them out of there.

Urg, wrote this before seeing Thanee's post.[/sblock]

Tatjana intercepts the mook from behind, who at first tries to shrug her off, then, turning, see who she is. The color sorta drains from his face, and he murmers, "Wong ba duhn*." his good hand strays to his iced one. Aaron and Merk look forgotten, for the moment.

Merk flashes a grin that morphs instantly into a snarl, grabs a drink that's (sitting next to the expensive one Aaron bought him on the table rail) and throws it in Aaron's face while spitting out a convincing "Kwai jio kai**, and don't come back!" Aaron realizes, as it lands, that Merk is enjoying his free punch. Aaron doesn't have to act much to look convincing at stumbling back, whereupon he is caught by Tatjana's free arm.

“Don't worry,” Tatjana tells the mook, “I'm just here to ensure you won't do anything stupid. Have a nice evening, and... sorry 'bout the hand. The ice is good. It will be fine.”

The redhead then leaves him and heads out together with Aaron.

“Well, that didn't go all too well, did it? Of course, it could have gone a lot worse...” she says with a weak smile.
