Tatjana's finds an irate waitress charging toward the entrance of the pool hall when she goes back in, and Tatjana's return seems to both surprise and mollify her. Tatjana pays her tab and departs without further incident.
About twenty minutes later, she and Aaron find themselves waiting, out of view, across the street from Reilley's. After another twenty minutes, they finally see Merk and the unnamed mook arrive on scene and they watch as the two men make their way into the alley leading out to the back of the restaurant.

“I will stay out of sight at first,” Tatjana said, when they arrived at the meeting place, that Aaron had mentioned while explaining what the little scene in the pool hall was about. She looked for a place where she could stay out of sight but within close distance.

"I appreciate your enthusiasm back there Merk," Slick says dryly, then his tone changes, "However if you ever throw alcohol in my face again, I'll kill you."
Aaron pauses just long enough for it to sink in. "Now spill it, everything you know about the girl Xiao Feng. And if you think to lead me false you'll be wishing for a bullet in the arm." He holds a small pouch that jingles. "Now if your info proves to be good and detailed I might just see fit to put in a good word with Da Gher Da Pablo."

In case you want a Influence roll (if I was running I might give it a step bonus due to circumstances)

Flashback: July 2511, Eavestown Docks, Persephone: Aaron and Tatjana
Merk glances at the other mook, who nods slightly. Merk say, "You get us in with Pablo plus some spending money, and I'll tell you what I know about the girl. He will too." He haggles (poorly) over the amount for a few seconds, and then agrees.
"Now, I don't mean no disrespect, but that girl's broke. Broke in the body, broke in the head, just broke. She's fi'teen, y'know - look'd just like that since Paula got her three years ago. Paula ain't never sent her out 'fore tonight - 'fore that she was just workin' at the Orchid, mostly for Paula, not the Johns I don't think. Paula woulda done better by her if she'd had to keep her nice for the customers. She needed a lotta makeup tonight.
"I been bouncing at the Orchid the last couple years. Feng Pi* -- I mean, Xiao Feng** -- Xiao Feng wasn't handlin things to well a couple years ago. I'd see her cryin' all the time when she though Paula weren't lookin. Then a while back, she starts lookin' happy all the time. I ask her why, and she says her jie is protectin' her.
"Now Feng P-- , that is Xiao Feng don't got a real jie, so I ask her who she means, and she don't tell me right off. But a couple weeks later I ask again, and she tells me it's this girl Carly, and that how I know she broke in the head, cuz Carly's been chasin' the dragon so long she can't even protect her own stash any more. I tell her that and she tries to kick me in the balls ans runs away and she don't talk to me no more
"Guess she decided she was gonna protect Carly, though, cause that' what tonight was all about. Carly was sposed to go out tonight. Paula had her on the books for one of the sickos - one of those customers she knows is gonna use a girl up for a while, maybe for ever, ya' know?"
"Well Xiao Feng, she sees the books right? Cause she's workin with Paula? So she tries to change the appointment book - but she ain't never book to school and she don't write so good, so Paula notices what she done. She gets real mad (you know how Paula gets), and I see that look on her that tells me I ain't the one getting it. She asks Feng Pi why she done it, and the girl just begs her not to send her jie out to that man. Well that kind a beggin' only sett Paula off, but she says, all sweet, 'You don't want Carly to earn her keep, Xiao Xiao? Well someone's gotta earn her keep for then. So you put her name back there, and send her out yourself. Or, if you want your "jie" to just have another nice night with the red chicken***, then you take her place, and you pay her keep.'
"Well, Xiao Feng says she's gonna go. Paula don't get - I could tell - but she not gonna back down, right? So she dresses the girl up, in one of those Chinese get ups, and sends her off. Only thing is, we get a call from the guy's wife not too long after, and she's freaking out cause Feng Pi's stabbed the gut in the throat and run off. Killed him, just like that.
So Paula drags me and Percy here out to go look for her. This is real bad for business it ever gets out, so Paula's even more crazy than she was before, and when we find her, she just goes off. She wants us to beat on her too, like out in public, so's everyone knows she don't let that kinda thing go unpunished, see? So we do, only not too hard, right? ot as hard as she woulda - not as hard as she wanted us to, right Percy?" The other mook, Percy apparently, nods helpfully. "And that's when you two showed up."
"Now, they're probably all back at the Orchid. Paula's probably beat her some more, but it's probably outta her system now. Girl's probably in her room on the second floor. It's near the end of the hall - Paula's is the one on the very end. Steve's the big guy up there. He's a bastard. There's probably four or five guys on the main floor tonight too."

Merk draws a quick map, says, "Upper floor if she's sleeping or usin' - 211 - right near Xiao Feng's in 214. One of the party rooms downstairs if she's workin'. "Bridget's on the floor and'll know who's workin' if Paula ain't down there."

Percy jolts at Tatjana's appearance, says, "Stop doin that!"
Merk smacks him on the back of the head, "Told ya she'd be here somewhere. Anyway, Carly's about twenty-five; looks like it, anyway. Can never really tell with the junkies. Skin an'bones, longish black hair, freakish pale skin; never really looks at you. There're a few girls like that there, though. Not really much more to say about her."

After they head off Slick turns to Tatjana,"Well this is a mess," he says while taking a look at the rough sketch. He hands it to Tatjana, "Do you still want to proceed? The girl did kill a guy. That tends to cloud things up a bit, morally speaking."
