Shackled City vs Age of Worms.

Thanks for the tips. I was looking for an overview of the basic plot and what type of adventures make up the modules, combat or heavy RP and stuff. I'll give Piazio a check. Thanks for the info all.

Any clue if Age of Worms will be released in collected form?

We'd love to do a hardcover of Age of Worms... but we can't start working on it until we get the rights to do so from Wizards of the Coast (who owns the Age of Worms content). And since it'll take, at minimum, 9 to 12 months to get a hardcover in stores, I wouldn't expect to see a hardcover Age of Worms anytime soon, unfortunately.

Well that sucks, since it pretty much means I won't be able to run it, 85 bucks is a bit too much for the mags by themeselves as I would only be using the one part. The concept of a 1-20 adventure that isn't one mega dungeon is pretty cool, and since it is all over Greyhawk that is another bonus.

How come all the issues aren't available as .pdf? What is the policy on the .pdf copies? Do you have to wait until you get the go ahead or sell out of physical copies of the magazine?

In any event thanks for the replies, very cool of you to reply to my ramblings.

Our licence with Wizards of the Coast = we have to wait for an issue to sell out of its print run before we can put an issue up as a PDF. It's going to take some time for us to sell out of the 12 Age of Worms issues, and we won't sell out at all the same time. Waiting to get the Age of Worms in PDF will probably be a longer wait than for the Hardcover. The same goes for Savage Tide (the 3rd Adventure Path, which we just started printing in Dungeon).

And yes... it's expensive to get all 12 issues of an Adventue Path—a hardcover won't be much cheeper, unfortunately, due to the realities of production costs. Of course... subscriptions cut that price in half...

So who at WOTC do we have to kill ... er, whose desk do we have to stand on to get an Age of Worms hardcover greenlighted?

Better yet, how much green do we have to raise to get Age of Worms made as a single-player party-based CRPG?

THAT... would be pretty awesome. One, please!

You have no idea how many cool ideas I have to execute this ... side treks in Greyhawk, unlocking prestige classes by performing quests for certain organizations ...

I need to hit the lottery or something to make it reality.

maybe someone can do it in NWN2? Anyone work at bioware (or whatever company is designing the game)?
Obsidian is making the game.

Someone could try to do it in NWN2 as long as they don't charge for it, of course. Would require a lot of custom content, however. Hope someone has a bunch of free time... :)
