Shadowdark Shadowdark General Thread [+]

The Battlezoo Books look like they would add a lot of interesting options to SD and the price of $50 per book (US at least) is pretty reasonable, but releasing them all at once and bundled together seems to be too much for most. I think a staggered release would have been better, but maybe logistically this made the most sense for them?

Will probably pick up the PDFs to see if physical is worth investing in. Appreciate the art is in tune with Core the books.
They have a tier for backing only a single book for those who can't afford all of them - and each book comes with all the bonus goodies associated with that book.

Yeah I might get one book, but like others I feel like I've been splurging on too many KS's lately.

I am definitely looking forward to Deathbringer, though.

And regardless of what I personally acquire, I'm happy to see Shadowdark grow into an entire ecosystem.

Enjoy it while you can before Black Rock or General Atlantic gives Kelsey an offer she can't refuse...and then promptly ruins the whole thing. (Of course I would simply continue to enjoy my pre-buyout Shadowdark, while Kelsey enjoys her private island.)

Also worth mentioning that they do promos a few times a year, like 25% off during holidays. You most likely don't get all the extra digital goodies like VTT tokens and such, but it is possible to get a deal on their books later if you don't back it now.

1000 backers.

I really dont think I need these though and would rather get the 3 Righteous Vow books.

Both would hit me for another $300+ and I just cannot...

Still trying to figure out exactly what it means that Deathbringer will 1) be a ShadowDark title, and 2) be standalone. To make a comparison; is it like Savage Pathfinder, which recreates the Savage World rules, the Pathfinder campaign setting, is completely compatible with them, and yet stands alone and doesn't need anything else (in theory) to use?

I mean, I realize nobody here has the answer to that, but that is a weird offhand comment in the video that I'm not clear on.

And just when you think you've figured it out....WHAM! Deathbringer emerges from the shadows and crits you for over 9,000.
