I was just watching the history channel and something interesting came up that (in my warped mind) relates to D&D. The show was on the history of flight. Evidently, the international language of all airline pilots is English... specifically American English. All pilots and air traffic controllers are required to speak English. Why? Because the airplane was invented by Americans.
So ... since D&D was invented by an American. So I propose that all language in 3E books as well as on these boards should be in English... American English that is.
So no talk of "getting a flat in Waterdeep" or "he's wearing magical trousers."
In fact, phrases such as "not fer nothin'," "this potion is totally skunked," or "special attack: kick in the nads" should become common place for all gamers.
Thoughts on how to get this started?
