Whoa.

and

Whoa.

and... WHOA! Good ep (then again I never expect to much from TV much anymore). I felt it was really a Luthor ep... even though it was even handed with both story lines.

Oh... there were some meteor rocks also.

SPECULATION:

Could Lex have been interested in the serum for his memory?

I do have one question:

ARE THOSE BLANKETY-BLANK KRYPTONITE ROCKS LYING ALL OVER SMALLVILLE, IN EVERY DITCH AND GULLY, EVEN AFTER TEN YEARS?!?!?

Just once - scratch that, MORE than once - I'd like to see an episode without a single meteor rock in it. An overused MacGuffin becomes stale far too quickly.

Other than that, and the "time travel" thing, I enjoyed the episode. So Lionel's on the clock, huh? Looks liek things are gonna get moving soon.

Who wants to bet Lex gets his memory back by the end of the season?

So did he actually pull the trigger or was he just tesing out the fit?

You'll have to wait a month to find out. I doubt it though; you don't hire a new mad scientist and schedule your secret lab for reassembly within the week only to kill yourself later that same day. If the point of all his machinations is to save his life, taking it himself (and prematurely at that) is the last thing in the world he's going to do.

I got back from class just as that scene started, and in itself I must say it was quite powerful. When I saw it the second time (after seeing the rest of the episode), it still played well.

No, a man like Lionel is not used to the thought of being weak; he also is not the suicidal type. However, I think he would also rather take his own life than be reduced to a mewling, weakened shell of what he once was, so I think he's getting USED to the thought of eating hot lead. He's working himself up to it, in case the doctor can't help him.

I think that's probably the case too, but it would be cool if he shot himself just after having an injection (although it probably wouldn't work if he died by bullet rather than liver disease).
