D&D 5E So I think the Designers get the "Alertness" feat wrong and made it OP

Rogue Assassin, Immune to Surprise takes away the Prime Ability to Assassinate and the Rogues Sneak attack unless there is an Friend next to the target (First Round of combat most like the Rogue will beat all others in Initiative so there would be no Friend near the target, delay action until a friend gets next to the target)

So I see it that it does

Remember we are only talking about Feats, Not Magic Spells or Items

The rogue readies his bow, or moves and readies his attack until the ally closes in, and can still get sneak attack. Alertness is a strong feat, but just because its better than some of the garbage ones (weapon master, linguist, etc) doesn't make it overpowered.

Also, who cares if it hurts assassins. NPC's don't normally have feats so this will rarely impact PC assassins. NPC's don't normally have class features, so it's unlikely to have it even come up. In the rare instance this prevents assassinate, GOOD. Feats should be cool.

Whatever the feat that lets you ignore resistance against your spells is much more likely to have an impact.
