No bonus to hit, only to Damage pgs 194 & 196Jon Wake said:FEATS
Eladrin Soldier (+2 dmg and hit w/ longsword)
Because you are hog tied. This thread is about nitpicking a specific situation that can only happen by your say so. In actuality, wizards dont fight like fighters.Aaron said:Because you and I can be able to use a sword.
But if I train with my sword for the next 10 years, while you you spend your time casting spells, I wonder how could you be able to strike an heavily armored opponent with the same chance of hit I have.
Or the monster has an option that lets it avoid the fighter.AtomicPope said:Now that's not even an option, lest the DM become a bald-faced cheat.
Well, they still don't have to attack him. It's probably just a better idea then attacking someone else. But ignoring is definitely out.AtomicPope said:A Wizard's "BaB" won't be as high as a Fighters because Fighters get +1 to hit with all one or two-handed weapons (depending on their style). In a game were the max is +15 that's a big deal.
BaB and ThAC0 were always a failure for depicting fighting talent. Using BaB or ThAC0 as a yardstick to determine fighting ability in 4e is tantamount to gauging modern armies by the number of horses in their cavalry - anachronistic and absurd. There's a heck of a lot more to a 4e Fighter than his "to Hit" bonus. Never before could a PC Fighter force the monster(s) to target him for attacks. It was a conceit of good roleplaying but the DM could always shrug and ignore the Fighter. Now that's not even an option, lest the DM become a bald-faced cheat.
