"Some Bozo" (don't move)

I have been receiving harassing emails from a fellow going by the nick of "Some Bozo". I have been informed that others may have been receiving similar emails as well. If you have gotten emails from "Some Bozo" keep these facts in mind.

1. Cyberstreet has contact information for ENWorld. They don't need your help there.

2. So far as I know, ENworld's bills are paid up. If there were any difficulty regarding payments you can be sure that Cyberstreet would not contact board posters about payment.

3. "Some Bozo" is reading email sent to Cyberstreet's support desk. I sent an email about him to support@cyberstreet.com, and "Some Bozo" sent me an email with the text of my email in it. Keep that in mind should you have occasion to email Cyberstreet on this matter.

I do not know if "Some Bozo" has hacked into Cyberstreet's system, or works for them in some capacity, but what he is doing could very well be illegal. It is certainly annoying. Hopefully he'll be caught soon and this whole thing will blow over. Till then be careful about the email you open. If you do get an email regarding ENWorld from "Some Bozo" or anyone else that claims to need assistance regarding contacts with ENWorld or ENWorld's financial situation vis a vis Cyberstreet, please forward that message to an ENWorld administrator.

Be careful, and remember that no one who wants to be your personal friend will ask you for your credit card number (and a real psychic would know it in the first place:)).

We're sorting the confusion out. As far as I know, no one else has been getting email. If so, as Alan said, forward it over to me.

In the mean time, I'll slide this over to Meta!

EDIT - duh. It just occurred to me that the "don't move" in the title was referring to not moving this thread out of General Discussion. I can be a bit slow sometimes.

But it'll take a while to sink, and I'm sure that anyone who receives email will let us know. It's nice having smart members.

Thanks again, Alan!

Piratecat,

While I have not received any such e-mails, it seems to me that any attempt to illegally seek money may be a violation of federal wire fraud laws. (I am not an attorney.)

Good luck in tracking down "Some Bozo!"
