Would someone please tell me why some people think Favored Soul is overpowered?
I wasn't checking threads when those arguments were hot. I just see some people are mentioning FS to be an overpowered class from time to time, but I can't guess the reason. Would someone please explain why they think so?
I prefer cleric over FS. I always take Scribe Scroll for a cleric and a cleric can make tons of cure/utility/defensive/information spell scrolls. FS can't do this as they don't know all the cleric spells.
* Also, FS can't turn undeads. That is a significant disadvantage.
* They are not even proficient with heavy armor.
* They don't have domain powers nor domain spells.
*The difference of Spells per day between Cleric and FS is much fewer than those of Wizard vs Sorcerer.
* And Clerics already have spontaneous casting ability and their spell casting is versatile.
What is so good on FS? Energy Resistance ? Ability to fly? DR? Those are all easily accessible through spells or magic items if the character is in that high level.
