So is assuming that if it's in print, it's good. ;)
Still better than being axed out. Isn't it? ;)

Gross.

The sorcerer doesn’t have anything like 20+ spells. They have their spells known. They fact that set can be 1 different tomorrow is irrelevant.
Of course the sorcerer does not. Yet, with the spell versatility he had access to all of his spell list. Over one week, a 1st level sorcerer can fully change all his known spells where the wizard will be stuck with what's in his spellbook.

But I too will be out of this thread.

I dont think the wizard could switch it if they had never learned it/added it to their spellbook.
Um...what? I didn’t say anything about them being able to learn new spells by changing their prepared spells, I said they can change their entire available set of spells overnight. The sorcerer cannot, even with spell versatility.

The circumstances under which a sorcerer could seem as versatile as the Wizard are so niche, that to consider them when balancing a new optional rule is beyond absurd.

Over a week.

A week.

Yeah that’s way better than the Wizard. 🙄

What this is all starting to tell me is that maybe there's one or two too many arcane-caster classes in 5e and some pruning might be in order...?
Oh god yes. At least two Charisma full-casters too many.

I somewhat miss the time when wizard casting was just how arcane magic worked. There was a kind of coherence to it. Bards were really just multiclass wizards in 2E.

If Spell Versatility killed the wizard, it was dead on arrival thanks to Clerics and Druids anyway. I wasn't even a huge fan of the ability, but it was far less powerful than again, Clerics and Druids, who could do the same thing but on greater scope.
This point was repeatedly made earlier in the thread, and repeatedly responded to in detail earlier in the thread.

Seems like we're going in circles, with people now just ignoring responses and repeating their positions. I can see why people are bailing on the thread now. This isn't a conversation anymore it seems. Which isn't your fault as it's a thread with nearly 450 posts at this point. I am just saying it seems whatever people were going to say on this topic has been said.
