Spells for Warforged

I don't have the book yet, but I know that warforged have to live with a built-in arcane spell failure. Of course, ASF only kicks in when you use a spell that requires somatic components. Thus, I've taken a look at the SRD to see which spells do not require somatic components, and this is what I have found:
0: Flare, Light
1: Feather Fall, Hold Portal, True Strike, Ventriloquism
2: Blindness/Deafness, Blur, Darkness, Knock
3: Displacement, Suggestion, Tongues
4: Dimension Door, Lesser Geas, Shout
5: Contact other Plane, Teleport
6: Geast/Quest, Mass Suggestion
7: Greater Teleport, Phase Door, Power Word-Blind, Teleport Object
8: Irresistible Dance, Maddening Scream*, Mass Charm Monster, Power Word-Stun
9: Mage's Disjunction, Power Word-Kill, Prismatic Sphere, Teleportation Circle, Time Stop, Wail of the Banshee, Wish
*From the Divine Domains and Spells file, which is rather buggy at the moment
Given this information, what kind of sorcerer/wizard could a warforged be?

Still Spell only costs one spell level, and is a way to get around Arcane spell failure chances < full plate wearing Wizards make Tenser Happy >

That said, its only 5% chance, thats not to large a penelty that it sould stap a warforged for being a good arcane caster

Yes, but it is an extra cost, and some people may want to avoid that, for various reasons. Maybe I should have made my intention clearer - without having to pay any extra costs, these are the spells from the SRD a warforged can use without worrying about spell failure. If you don't want to pay an extra cost to add other spells, what kind of spellcaster would work best? For example, a few spells fit an Eldritch Knight, while others might fit a spy-mage or a scout.

I agree that it is not much of a penalty, but for some, it is.

They should have used twilight armor to forge them! :D

Lesser Geas is 4th level, BTW.

Anyways, plenty nice spells on that list. Add in some other useful ones and all the no-brainers, and you could be a decent sorcerer with a slight handycap. :)

Well the Powerwords are really nice. But other then those theres no offensive spells.

If you worried about spell failure, id take a level as Spellsword ( CW ) the first level gives you +1 in spell casting class and the ability to ignore 10% arcane spell failure. Take one level in that and you dont have to worry bout your spell selection since that 10% will override thier natural spell failure and give you free acess to all spells

I'll fix that. Must have looked at the bard level.

I believe they also suffer a penalty to Charisma, making them not so ideal sorcerers. ;)

They do get a penalty to Cha however it is a -2 that could be easily fixed, or you can put one of your higher stats into it perhaps. Who knows though you could try divine casting.....

I think the Warmage class from Miniatures Handbook would be
perfect for warforged. It also fits the background, since warforged are
often trained exclusively for the battlefield.

The Eberron Campaign setting has two more spells (Actually, just one; and yes, now I have the book) - Magecraft and Maddening Scream.

Most divine casters would suffer a bit from the Wisdom hit. Warmages would suffer from the Charisma hit, but their armor wouldn't hurt their spellcasting.

It seems that a warforged could well be a good wizard with these spells. Other arcane classes suffer a bit, but should work well enough. :)
