I don't see how that makes them hard to compare. It's the moviemaking craft that's being compared, not the stories themselves. I think the stories of the two prequels we've seen so far are fine, if not absolutely excellent. It's the execution of the stories with bad pacing, bad dialogue, bad editing and even bad acting (although I mostly blame the director on that -- most of those actors are quite capable in other roles I've seen them in) that makes them compare poorly with the OT, not the stories or the setting.Ankh-Morpork Guard said:Its hard to compare them to the OT because its a completely different galaxy, so its a completely different story to tell.
Obviously, our opinions differ. I'm of the opinion that because the setting is so much different, that even the style needs to be different to represent that. The dialogue is probably the best representation of this...though I'll agree with the pacing and action being off. Not as much bad as at least off.Joshua Dyal said:I don't see how that makes them hard to compare. It's the moviemaking craft that's being compared, not the stories themselves.
