She knew she was using Nala as a proxy, though. Yes?

Maybe, she looked conflicted and got caught up in her own emotional trauma. Its already established she's got lots of psychological issues and disassociates herself from consequences - like she did with the murder during the robbery - so I can see her doing the same regarding Nala as proxy.
She just focussed on Nala, she isnt responsible for what Braka chooses to do after that.

I think if we look at the season as a whole then there are three strands that run together through this last episode and if you do not take the full extent of those strands (or character arcs) then you end up in different places.

Caleb's arc is going from a child with trauma (despite being physically an adult when the flashbacks end in episode 1) to moving beyond that trauma into a more fully formed whole. He becomes an adult who decides how he wants to face the world rather than being controlled by his past trauma and beliefs.

Anisha is in an intermediate state. She is also an individual with a great deal of trauma, a trauma made worse by losing her son at the start of the season. She is controlled by that trauma for the most part, but we do see breaks in this. This comes up when she does not immediately hurt Nahla when they are taken by Braka and his soldiers. Further shown by her not selling Nahla out after she reveals there is a plan and Caleb is alive. Her trauma still guides her when under immense stress, however, which is shown as part of the guilty verdict. With that said, she lived and worked with Braka for some time (all hinted at off-screen), and so I think we take some duress here in her actions, as she knows from the murder she was an accessory to that Braka will not hesitate to kill her (or anyone else) who steps out of line.

Braka is the third strand and the unchanged state. As explicitly stated by Nahla, he is still living as a scared and traumatized child, not growing in any way or evaluating the past or where he may be headed.

Cheers :)
