Star Trek: Technical Manual?

I have a book that is a technical manual for ST:TOS. I've been looking for one that does the same thing for ST:TNG and ST:DS9 (and maybe ST:V ?). I especially want to see stuff like the newest Defiant class and the newest Sovereign class (what can I say, that was the best part of the Birth of the Federation computer game).

Does one exist, or is this information a google search type of thing?

I do have the Star Trek Technical manuel for The Next Generation. Its mostly cool.... mostly. This one has nothing from the movies, only the TV shows.

As for DS9, I have seen one for that as well at Barnes and Nobles. It does have a chapter on the Defiant if I recall correctly.

Huh... I wonder if I could find information on the final battles against the Dominion. Especially those space fighters...

If only ST: Birth of the Federation worked. (And if I hadn't given it away, in disgust...)

The ST: TNG one is one of the greatest bits of fictional tech writing I've ever seen... I'm in awe of the writers.

The DS9 one is so so.

The TOS one, to me, was kinda bleh. I got it mostly for the patterns for the uniforms :)

They should be available, but I'm unsure if they are still printing them.

I doubt you may find any info on the Sovereign other than Decipher's Star Trek game products titled, Starship.

Anyhoo, since the lackluster sale of DS9TM as well as the Star Trek: Galaxy-Class Starship Blueprint (a boxed set full of deckplans, architectural drawing style), they hold off making any new technical manual, including Voyager (not a great show, but I did like the Intrepid-class ship).

Your best alternative is to look for back issues of Star Trek: The Magazine (distributed in US) or the Star Trek Fact File (distributed in Europe).

I wonder if the advent of so many games has precluded the idea of printing such manuals to avoid either technical contrariness among sources or because of contractual conflicts that didn't exist when the earlier ones were printed?

The Blueprint box is, hands down, the most amazing over-indugence I have ever seen. If you were running a ST:TNG roleplaying game, it would be the #1 priority on things to hunt down on e-bay.

I have to admit that I have it.

I had the TNG manual several years ago, unfortunately I let a friend of a friend borrow it and then never saw said person again :( I'm going to have to get a replacement, that book was just fun reading.

I'm sure the most devoted Trek techie fans -- especially of TNG -- would have the Blueprint of NCC-1701-D.

Anyone who has DS9TM is delighted by the deckplan for the Defiant-class starship in the back. Initially, I thought it was an ugly little warship but I've grown to love it.
