Star Wars Iconic Characters: Interlude...

Sia-Lan slid across the floor on her rear, thumping with an loud "OOF" on the wall opposite which just happened to be a very big wookie's arms. Hoisting herself up, she brushed the dust and dirt off her clothes off ineffectually. Her blue eyes glanced heavenward at her mussed up hair...then she blew a nice puff of breath to flick a couple of stray auburn locks out of her way.

"That was more fun than a wampan bat ride! Let's try that again!" the Jedi padawan exclaimed with a gleeful laugh and proceeded to bounce right back into the bar with all the innocence of a newborn babe. "Come on, Rory! Let's dance! I'm very bendy, you know!"

Rolling his eyes skyward, Rorworr lets Sia drag him back into the bar.

"May the Force be with me, I've got a feeling I'm going to need it!" He calls back to his assembled companions in the slightly more salubrious surroundings of the diner.

Arani will watch carefully to be sure that Kaz Lo and Kelko are fed properly and having a good time. Assuming they are, she'll fiddle with her datapad while waiting for the inevitable barfight to start.

From the Very Secret Diary of Arani Korden

Have not been assaulted by any giant snakes for over a week. My luck appears to be holding.

Expedition to bar/diner seems to be utter failure as party, smashing success as experiment in social engineering. Sia-Lan has gone insane, Valara is suddenly making eyes at Set, of all people, D. being very aloof and brooding. Suits him.

Still not queen, dammit.

K. and K. don't seem to be having good time. Must fix that; more later.

Sia-Lan bounces her way back only to be greeted by the flared emitter lens of a Merr-Sonn Deck Sweeper from the behind the bar. Again, everyone stops what they're doing to watch the two youngsters.

"I reckon you've caused enough commotion for one day, Miss," the bartender says, "Why don't you and your friend take a little friendly advise... I suspect it'd be in your best interests to walk out that door, go back to your ship, and haul jets to the nearest 'jump point."

"Oh don't bother fussing over me, Arani," Kelko assures the noble, trying to shoo her off. There's no malice behind the Rodian's dour voice, but then there never is. "I've gotten more than enough nutrition from the surface of this bar than I've had all week. Of course, everything still tastes like Bacta, but you can't win them all. In fact, I can't win any of them."

He motions off to the Wookiee and the red-headed jedi. "You should go enjoy yourself with Rorworr and Sia-Lan. Some of us should enjoy ourselves why we're here, anyhow." He puts his elbows on the counter in front of his meal, and then places his cheeks in his hands, big bug-like eyes staring apparently at the menu.

A grumbling noise echoed from the depths of her stomach, reminding her that some cheeseburgers, pipso and chips waited for her back in the restaurant.

Sia-Lan sighed and then blew the barkeep a kiss. "Then I'll stop by later when you've all had enough to drink to get more wobbly and are ready for fun!" Waving cheerfully at the rest of the bar patrons, the Jedi headed back toward the restaurant with her furry wookie friend. "Do you think Set and Valara have eaten all the food?" she asks with some concern, her fingers rubbing her flat belly. "Maybe I can take a bunch of stuff to go?"

"Sure you can. You survived a wound that would have killed any of us. You managed to shoot a partially submerged river snake, while it was grappling with me, incidentally saving my life in the process. And you've inspired such loyalty in a member of Naboo nobility that she not only spent ages in a fetid stinking jungle watching over you despite the risk to life, limb, and a brand new pair of boots, she also organized a party in your honor because she noticed you were feeling a bit superfluous."

Arani leans in closer to Kelko. "You're very important to this group. You're important to me. A million extra mechanics wouldn't change that."

Arani stands up. "Now what can I get for you? Cheeseburger? Pipso? Chips?"

For her part in the sordid campaign in the Dinner Valara, simply sits and watches Set from her seat in the booth she had procured for the group's meal. It was barely large enough to seat them all, but it was the cleanest she could find. Valara must think that watching Set is a rather enjoyable game as she smiles whenever he tries to look at her without being noticed. She is warming up quite well to their game, at least she thinks its a game, when her food arrives.

She looks at the cheeseburger disdainfully, it didn't look very good, or appetizing, not at all what she had pictured. Tentatively, like it was a live two-stepper she bit into it. It tasted unlike anything she had ever had, it was soo good to the girl that she let out a squeal of pure delight, and mindful of the few instructions Arani had given her she wiped the grease from her chin with a napkin. With that first bite out of the way she digs into the burger with a speed that is quite awe inspiring, all her food was gone within a matter of seconds, quite a feat. She looks up at the other self-consciously. "Is there any more?" she asks the noble almost plaintively, it seems the way to her heart was through her stomach.

Kaz takes his meal over to the booth with Valara. As he sets his things down and orients them just so (he's left-handed so he'll try to take the end of the booth), he'll watch Sia fly in and out of the dance floor.

"Hmm...well I wanted a tussle but dang, I don't think we could take on the whole dadgum bar. Cheeseburgers sure hit the spot though!"

Sen's second brain replies soberly, "No, never. In fact you'd probably do best if you left as soon as possible and took all of your friends with you."

"I've got a very bad feeling about this," Sen's second brain re-iterates. "Hrm... I'd say you should definitely go find your friends and leave the station as soon as possible."
