Sigh. They should have left the two halves of this character at the bottom of the pit. It's a big galaxy, go explore something new.
Oh well, to each their own.

I would normally agree with you, but Clone Wars proved that Maul is MUCH more interesting alive than dead. The fact they wasted that character as they did in The Phantom Menace is just another mark against Lucas as a writer and director.Sigh. We can all excoriate Lucas for wasting interesting characters -- I've a long simmering resentment for what he did to Boba Fett in RotJ. But I'd rather move on than attempt rehabilitation; better to have a clean break from Lucas' poor choices. To me, bringing Maul back in the Clone Wars series was as cringe as "somehow, the Emperor returned."I would normally agree with you, but Clone Wars proved that Maul is MUCH more interesting alive than dead. Except the Maul stuff in CW was among the best of that series. We can all excoriate Lucas for wasting interesting characters -- I've a long simmering resentment for what he did to Boba Fett in RotJ. I felt that way when Maul first returned.Sigh. They should have left the two halves of this character at the bottom of the pit. It's a big galaxy, go explore something new.
