Spoilers Star Wars: The Acolyte [Spoilers]

This one felt a little bit too short, and we get yet another delay of Sol telling the full story in a way that really feels annoying, just padding the story instead of getting to the good stuff. The good stuff of course would have been more Qimir. Jason has gone a long way from his Buddhist monk cover...
Has he, though? Seems like he's got that whole ascetic lifestyle down, and is doing plenty of philosophising.

Unless he's got a games room stuck in a sub-basement of that cave.

Indeed. A Jedi needs to be calm to access the force. The state Sol is in he couldn’t levitate an ant.

If he he had Sith training he could use his grief to access the Force, but he doesn’t, so he can’t.
Any Jedi can use grief in that way. They just don't because it's the first step on the path to the dark side.

I think there was a moment in episode 5 where Sol did let his emotions get the better of him while fighting Qimir.

We also see that in Episode I when Obi-Wan is visibly angry and aggressive while fighting Maul after the latter kills Qui-Gon. If that's not a prime example of an emotionally compromised Jedi using their grief to fight, I don't know what is!

We also see it with young Obi-Wan in Ep I. He is visibly upset and angry after witnessing Maul kill Qui-Gon. Based on his body language during that fight, I think you could make a case that Obi-Wan called on the dark side to defeat Maul.

Dark side point. You can soak up to 6 or your wisdom score before you fall;).

LOL. Yep. And Obi-Wan clearly gets away with it, too, since the Jedi Council decides to count his defeat of Maul as a successful knighthood test!

Obviously Obi-Wan's use of the dark side to defeat Maul didn't cause enough of a ripple for Yoda to notice, unlike Anakin's slaughter of the Tuskens.
