Statting slivers?

Hello all, im currently working in 4th edition and statting slivers. So far i have a Base sliver, which is a pretty easy creature, and has no special attributes. Before i go any further, to the people who do NOT know what sliver are... they are a type of monster in Magic the Gathering, they basically are a hive mind and give all other slivers a certain ability, such as flight, or trample or more attack and defense. And when a sliver dies, all the other slivers lose those abilities bestowed upon them ,thus adding an additional level of strategy, meaning which ones to take down first. Things like that.

Anyway, i was in the process of making slivers in 4th edition. For instance one sliver gives all other slivers on the field +2 to attack, or +2 to damage, or a bonus to AC or even have slivers deal fire, ice or some other sort of damage. Things like that. Well, now all i have is the base sliver and i put these "templates" on him and make in into a different kind of sliver.

My thought is that i should make unique slivers for all the types, and beef them up in addition to what they actually do . Such as a muscle sliver would naturally have a stronger attack than a base sliver, as well as giving +2 to attack to every sliver (including itself). So the non base slivers would be innately good at what they do .

Any one have any other suggestions? or would like to help even? Thanks for your time.

My advice would be to take a look at kruthiks (from the MM1) and start adding abilities. Kruthiks always felt a little like slivers to me (they work best in large numbers). Adjust their auras to improve based on the number of kruthiks adjacent to them and there you go.

Huh... I never really noticed before, but they even have a similar aesthetic to slivers.

I used to be a big sliver fan back in the day. Now I can barely remember any of their names. However, My suggestions would be:
1: Make their power that they share with others an aura
2: Don't make the powers they have too powerful, because when you start stacking them, they get out of hand.
3: Include an xp bonus, or modify base xp per creature to include the fact that one sliver shares its cool ability with all other slivers in its aura.
4: Sliver queen needs to make an appearance in your game as the "end boss" for sure. sliver overlord... not so much, he's just the k-mart queen anyway.

Sample powers off the top of my head:
Strength aura: Aura 10, all slivers within the aura deal +1 damage on attacks
Flight aura: Aura 10, All slivers within gain a fly speed of 6
Shield aura: Aura 10, +1 AC and Reflex
Mind over matter Aura: Aura 10, +1 Fort and Will
[Damage type] aura: Aura 10, Slivers gain that damage type (to a maximum of 2 damage types)
