Hello all, im currently working in 4th edition and statting slivers. So far i have a Base sliver, which is a pretty easy creature, and has no special attributes. Before i go any further, to the people who do NOT know what sliver are... they are a type of monster in Magic the Gathering, they basically are a hive mind and give all other slivers a certain ability, such as flight, or trample or more attack and defense. And when a sliver dies, all the other slivers lose those abilities bestowed upon them ,thus adding an additional level of strategy, meaning which ones to take down first. Things like that.
Anyway, i was in the process of making slivers in 4th edition. For instance one sliver gives all other slivers on the field +2 to attack, or +2 to damage, or a bonus to AC or even have slivers deal fire, ice or some other sort of damage. Things like that. Well, now all i have is the base sliver and i put these "templates" on him and make in into a different kind of sliver.
My thought is that i should make unique slivers for all the types, and beef them up in addition to what they actually do . Such as a muscle sliver would naturally have a stronger attack than a base sliver, as well as giving +2 to attack to every sliver (including itself). So the non base slivers would be innately good at what they do .
Any one have any other suggestions? or would like to help even? Thanks for your time.
