Just to be clear, I was being sarcastic.Everyone has their completely arbitrary limits.
Personally, I’m super-happy Gunn went for it with the dog.

I read Superman comics for a long time and sometimes crowds or the city turned against him in those, too. And I stopped reading comics in 1994.Im expressing feelings about how we can't just have shows where people aren't that way, that we can't just have heroes that people look up to. Realism is I'm so our shows now. Which, maybe I feel like I want one where that isn't how it is. Just one. Realism sucks, I don't need it in every story anymore. I jumped to zero conclusions.
The "why can't you fix everything" question has been something Superman has wrestled with both internally and externally at least since the dawn of the Silver Age, when he got a big power-up.I read Superman comics for a long time and sometimes crowds or the city turned against him in those, too. Yeah. That's been his kryptonite for... Er... Hmm.How do you hurt someone who is invincible? Attack their reputation.
It's been a feature of Superman stories from the start.
Just a nitpick, but Doctor Strange is a Doctor Fate knockoff. Fate first appeared in 1940 and Strange first appeared in 1963.Doctor Fate was great: a good actor, a familiar archetype (Doctor Strange knockoff) meant they didn't need much explanation, and they managed to work in some backstory anyway.
They get a lot more explanation/development in the Flash TV series. What is it with hawkman/girl anyway? They often seem to appear in a supporting role, but never seem to get much explanation or character development. Black Adam came closest, but I still don’t really know the nature of his powers or what makes him tick.
“I got wings, a wacky costume and I hit stuff with a mace” is a bit short change as a character.

Fair enough, I thought that might be the case, but clearly Strange is more generally familiar these days. Was he always associated with the JSA, and does the JSA predate the JLA?Just a nitpick, but Doctor Strange is a Doctor Fate knockoff. Fate first appeared in 1940 and Strange first appeared in 1963.
Astro City is great at interrogating classic comic tropes.Astro City had some interesting things things to say on this subject via Samaritan.
For sure. Marvel has been more popular than DC for ages and then there were the Doctor Strange movies.Fair enough, I thought that might be the case, but clearly Strange is more generally familiar these days.
The Justice Society was first. Was he always associated with the JSA, and does the JSA predate the JLA?
