It genuinely boggles my mind that the feats that are actually interesting or fun have the lowest scores.

Which of these do you consider interesting or fun? These all miss the mark for me.
Squat Nimbleness, all of the spell-granting feats, Dragon Fear, Fade Away, Flames of whatever, etc all give new abilities to characters, or change how they interact with the world in interesting ways.

If none of those are fun or interesting to you, I can't imagine what 5e feat is. Most of the PHB feats are god awful boring by comparison.

Except Actor, which is the bee's knees

Athlete and Mobile are also pretty fun, upon review of the phb.

Keen Mind and Linguist can be very fun, depending on campaign.

Skilled is boring to read but adds much more to a character that is actually interesting in terms of how it affects play than most of the most powerful feats. Prodigy is a more interesting version of it, but shouldn’t be restricted by race.

But even those aren’t as fun as Wood Elf Magic, IMO.
