Errol helped the others as best he could, but they were running out of time. “We should press on, then,” he agreed, picking up his pace.

"Very well" The old mans face was a mask of pain he did not relish the though of a forced March knowing he would slow the others down.

Sighing Valley
Day 4, Early morning

The group travel north along the bottom of the cliffs at a gruelling pace, making it to the cover offered by the trees and bushes along the river exiting the gully just as the fog starts to clear in the morning sun.

The foliage here is a bit thicker than further down the valley, benefitting from the cooler temperatures caused by the shadow of the gulley walls.

As you make your way in you notice along the north wall, some distance ahead, what appears to be a semi permanent encampment. Some effort has been made to conceal it but clearly not enough. It is occupied but you are too far to make out any detail about numbers and disposition but they appear to be going about whatever it is they are doing quite leisurely.

The area you are in at the moment offers great cover from view from the Spire, from overhead and from the encampment in the gulley.

"I expect that's probably the other cultists. However, before we go any further, maybe this would be a good place to take a rest. If the lookout can also keep an eye on that encampment then we can gather some information at the same time.."

Ilvellios sits at the base of a tree, looking unusually tired. Instead of mastering my body, he mused, herein lies a lesson for my mind. Does my ego take offense at being outperformed by an old man, or do I let go of that attachment, realising it does not serve me?

While pondering, his eyes drift shut and his head starts to sink.

OOC:
Wake him if you want to move on, otherwise I guess someone else is taking first watch! :-)

Feathergale Spire
Day 4/Early morning
Round 0

Errol watched the others dropped and looked to JV. “I’ll take next watch. Wake me in two hours,” he told the man, settling down himself. He pulled the hood of his cloak low over his eyes as he grabbed some rest.

[sblock=OOC]Are we getting a full long rest, I assume, and proceeding at dusk? Remember to let Errol do an Inspiring Leader for everyone before they set off. Also, we need to remember light for us humans LOL Don’t think we used any during the gully trek.[/sblock]

GM: Since I'm not really bothering with seasons, I'm going on a roughly 12 hour day, 12 hour night cycle. Say around 0600 to 1800. I'm also not traking time THAT accurately.

It is currently a little after sunrise, so a munimum long rest well take you early afternoon. If you want to wait until sunset, that'd be fine, it'll just be some extra random encounter and detection rolls.

Once inside the gulley you'll be hidden from the Spire, even during the day, and the foliage here offers pretty good cover, darkness will obviously help your stealth, but as you say, humans will struggle to see in the dark.

As for light last night, with the fog, you could have had light without serious risk, as the valley was open. Similarly, tonight's fog will hide the light somewhat, but you can see light far farther than you can see with light, even in fog, and the gulley is much more closed.
