Well, clicking on Merric's link, it says that flumphs were the only Lawful Good critter in the Fiend Folio.

Was this intentional or could it be a typo?

I wonder if back in the "old days" if players read a new DND book and wondered if there were "typos" or "erratta" or just took everything at face value.

I only used a flumph once in a one-shot adventure.. and it was a monstrous black evil flumph created by tinker gnomes (who also created the gigantic Mecha-Hamster that the PCs had to use to defeat the big bad flumph)...

Fiend Folio was the result of the UK editors of the book choosing a lot of monsters submitted to a magazine monster column and printing them. The quality of the entries gave us things like... well, just read Order of the Stick. :)

A few things turned out to be iconic, though: Githyanki and Death Knights were both in the Fiend Folio.

In theory, the Aleax could be LG as well, but most of us flumph lovers (haters) cheerfully ignore that fact when talking about the flumph.

Cheers!

You guys do know that our own moderator Plane Sailing created and contributed the Shadow Demon to the Fiend Folio, right?

Of course, he also created the quillan and the stunjelly. But we don't talk about that. :D

Triflumphant returns

Joke all you want, but I'm hell bent on getting the flumph back and updated into 3.5. Its been my personal crusade for some time now. Mark my words, there will soon be an official version of the flumph. The flumph cannot be denied, because as I've said on numerous occasions, there's a little flumph in all of us. :]
