Tell me about Warhammer Fantasy, please

That is REALLY cool that you said that, because after getting the basic gist of the world, all I could think was "I want to play Solomon Kane there."

Grim puritan Sigmarite priest adventurer.

Just rad.

Thanks for the info everyone!
Sigmar's Hiers has a lot of background information on the Empire.

And this is one of the biggest problems of 2nd ed compared to 1st ed.

2nd ed is much more designed in the 'splatbook' vein giving you some bare bones setting and some core rules but requiring a lot of expanssion material to back it up.

I'm afraid I'm also not a fan of the city-sourcebook/adventure bit either since the adventurers have been really hit or miss for me.

I actually thought my comment was a paraphrasing of something off Critical Miss, but I can't seem to find it, now.

And for those who don't know: Jonny Nexus's links contain language and concepts that are not grandma friendly.

Funny, yes. Grandma-friendly, no.

Sorry, yes, should have mentioned that.

Hey Jonny, I know this is OT, but, when's the next issue of Critical Miss coming? I need a fix. :)

You didn't check out the issue 11 "preview" in my sig? :)

But seriously, dunno. At the moment I'm pretty busy on Frup and my novel (objective: "Critical Miss: The Novel"; tagline: "Six Gods sit down to spend an evening roleplaying. Really Badly.").

Opinons on the first chapter from various friends and gaming associates have included:

Brilliant...

Possibly the best thing I have read of yours...
I'm grinning like a [censored] after reading that.
Awesome. Very, very funny.

If the rest of the book is like that then you have a winner.
That was excellent, sadly reminds me of some of my younger roleplaying sessions and of course why I hate riddles.

If you keep up that standard the book will be excellent.
I didnt like the duck references, they are demeaning to ducks.

How would you feel if someone spoke about your duck like that?

(Note: I didn't understand about the ducks either. There are no ducks mentioned whatsoever. And I've checked.)

Anyhow, the reason for that off-topic, egotistical, and probably self-promoting tangent is to give an inkling of how keen I am on the project and the extent to which this is basically my "Critical Miss project" of the moment. I hope everyone can understand that with that and Frup, CM will have to stay on the back burner for the moment. But I will be doing another issue.

The current plan is to publish the novel around March / April next year, and then perhaps do Issue 11 after that. I've got a few ideas (like the review of the F.A.T.A.L. game I played in Conpulsion back in March) and a pretty cool free game. So I'm hoping it will be pretty good.
