The Crux of the Matter

Rinaldo define his gravity on the wall and fall on it, safely landing on it, he then starts to run to safety, carrying Ashnar.

If Hogarth ready another action and cast Spiritual Weapon, can he cast it on the moment Pride cast a spell and so he could try to disrupt Pride's concentration?[/SBLOCK]

(OOC: Yep, Hogarth can do that on his turn. Not positive he will want to, but no time to post now--gotta go TA my class imminently)

*Rinaldo dashes towards the staircase and falls sideways, running in a straight line along the curving wall. He makes it out of sight of the battle below.*

*Meanwhile Laynie moves leisurely towards the battle, which at this point consists of Vanitri and the aspects. She turns to Vanitri:*

"Vanitri, it's not safe down here alone with all these aspects about. So sorry, dear," she points a finger at him, "I do thank you for keeping this body safe all this time...Do say hello to Ashnar for me when you see her in the Underworld."

*And with that, she triggers a Finger of Death, and the icy grip of death washes over Vanitri. Vanitri feels himself, his soul, slipping away out of his body, and his body becomes more and more unresponsive and numb...*

(OOC: Blast! Vanitri rolled an 18. What a waste of a DC 24 Finger of Death And crappy rolls on the consolation damage too.

Vanitri takes 19 Damage)

*But at the last second, Vanitri remembers what he is fighting for, remembers Laynie and all the others, and he struggles with inhuman fortitude and breaks the spell, only a small amount of his energy leeched away by the dark magic.*

OOC: Ok, I think I've miss something. Laynie just cast a spell? A finger of Death? And on Vanitri?

(OOC: Yup If you want a clue, check on the second link for the crappy damage and read the name of the player Frankly, I'm surprised nobody did anything about her before--I guess Ashna was the only one paranoid enough to do it and she's dead. Now you know what the 'throne' is)

"Laynie!" shouts Hogarth. He starts to back into safety and toward Rinaldo, not sure what the best thing to do, but keep an eye on Pride, waiting for him to cast, to cast himself his spiritual weapon on him, so it might disrupt his concentration.

[SBLOCk=Goblin]"Rinaldo, Laynie just cast a spell on Vanitri, and it has hurt Vanitri."[/SBLOCK] he shouts to Rinaldo behind him.

*Hogarth readies an action to use a spiritual weapon if Pride casts a spell. Gluttony readies an action also.*

"Pride, don't bother with a spell yet--send me some of your crushed black pearl so I can kill them all."

*Pride nods and pulls out a small pouch, which floats in the air over to Laynie, who grabs it.*

*As Rinaldo heads up and onto the walls, the former Guile clings to him and comes along for the ride. Interestingly, she does not begin to disintegrate on entering the area around the Crux.*

*Pride and Laynie both look perplexed.*

"What? How can she...do you mean to say the insipid Id Nymphs won't dissipate up there? But why?"

Just to make sure that you've seen that Hogarth as made a move action upstair before readying his action, as a ready action ask only for a Strandard action[/SBLOCK]
