Rinaldo sign his contract at the same time than Sin sign her. Once that is done

"Now, let's start by finding Laynie. She is outside teh tower you told me..."

"Not only do I know exactly where she is, I have also arranged to get you there and back quickly. Now then, first a little magic lesson. You may have thought Senex Teleported Laynie out of the tower, but he didn't--the distortion field makes Teleporting out of the tower dangerous and difficult and Teleporting into the tower from outside entirely impossible. Teleporting or, as Senex did Dimension Dooring, within the tower works fine, usually, though not from into ot out of the Crux area. So what did Senex do? He seems to have Dimension Doored her to the exit, had her walk out of the distortion field, and then Teleported her somewhere else. This exhausted his power within her, and so he lies quiescent within her, like Elpis, Mo, and Spira."

"So where is she? Senex teleported her to the ruins of Old Medibaria--specifically to a safehouse I built there hidden inside a ruined building. Someone looted it before--this Vanitri I believe from the way he talks. Anyway, Laynie went from the safehouse to the Academy, which is right nearby, and the Academy is magically warded against Scrying, so I couldn't find her after she went inside. Still, that should be easy for one of her friends--namely you. The Academy is also warded against unauthorised Teleporting, and since few Wizards can even use such magic, they would question it if they saw you do it."

"So here's the plan: I'm going to take you to the front door and cast a delayed Vanish on you, a spell to Teleport you but not me--you then run out the front door to escape the distortion field at full speed. With any luck, that will bring you to Medibaria, a safe distance from the Academy. Then you diplomacy your way inside to get Laynie, find her, and either convince her to come with you because 'Vanitri needs her help' or something, or just convince her to come for a walk with you outside. Either way, once you're out of the wards, you can break this token I'm giving you, and it will Teleport you right back to the tower, outside the distortion field. Then you stroll inside with Laynie, and mission accomplished!"

"Fine, let's proceed." tells Rinaldo. He turns to Hogarth. "Go see Vanitri and await me there."

Hogarth nods and go back to the Crux room. Rinaldo await Sin to cast her delayed spell. He will then go outside the tower and wait for the spell to act.

"Just one more thing--obviously if you tell her the naked truth, she may refuse to come with you. Since I can tell you're pretty suave and good at bluffing, then remember that not using a bluff and failing to get her back here as a result of that counts as not trying to the best of your ability. Just so you know before you get there and think about leading off with 'Hey Laynie, come with me so you can be possessed by Sin'. With that in mind, do run when I cast the spell--if you aren't all the way out, the Teleport may be...unfortunately distorted," Sin suggests, before standing with him just next to the tower's exit, handing him the token to break when he wants to return, and then casting the Teleport.

"I'm well aware of the consequence of not bringing her back." tells Rinaldo. As she casts the teleport, Rinaldo starts to run outside the tower.

*Rinaldo runs out of the tower as fast as he can, trying to get out of the distortional field. Some seconds later, he feels an odd disorienting sensation, and then the heavy weight of the tower's strange magics is gone. He finds himself in the ruins of an ancient city. He can see a huge building complex, towering over the rest of the ruins like a fortress among the rubble, and in some ways, it is a fortress. Almost completely intact despite signs of great age, the Academy is composed of a main castle-like complex in the centre and four tall towers topped with spires, each looking like a stereotypical Wizard's Tower that children would read about in storybooks, one on each corner. Strange wisps of glowing coloured light flit about around the building, and there appears to be a large stable and gardens located on the far side of the Academy from the entrance, which Rinaldo spots just ahead.*

*A wide ancient road, once well-traveled, leads directly to the entrance, a set of huge double doors inlaid with mystic symbols and engraved with bas relief scenes all over. Thick metal rings on the front are apparently used to open the door, but they seem far too large and heavy to be easily opened.*
