"I'll keep most of your stuff, though obviously I'll move the part about my soul to the new contract--we can make that one simple:

If I don't perform a good-faith effort to remove the Crux and then make myself whole, then I forfeit my soul."

"As to your contract, just put gathering Laynie first and we'll be fine, and since you said that the second contract is good enough insurance for you, you can give me back my items before you leave--or just after you get back but before you go after the other Aspects, I don't mind. The items I want are my spell components/foci and the magic items you haven't equipped already yourselves--I'll let you keep all the items you wanted most that you've already equipped before now. You can even keep components if they're for spells you actually plan on casting, except I know you can cast spells that use it, but I want the diamond dust--just pretend you were paying the diamond dust for a Resurrection. Meanwhile, I will work on Ashna while you are gone. Fair?"

Rinaldo grabs the handy haversack and get out all items in it and spell components. He takes 100gp of dust diamond and 25 gp of incense. "The diamond dust will be use to remove the curse on Tenebrynn if it is needed. If it is not needed, I'll hand you it back. The incense might be use if we need to commune again with Gundar. We will not need anything else. Except the sword and the flute, all other missing items are with Tenebrynn, so you'll be able to take it back once you help him to come back here."

Rinaldo starts to write down a paper the terms of teh two contract. As he do so, he tells. "Understand I've done that negotiation from a point of view I am not sure you are catching. You are a powerful wizard, you are handling chronomancy. You have the power to change the world once you get outside here. Just look at your tower, who could rip of the fabric of this world and tear it apart. I'm not only playing with my soul, but with the whole world. I cannot allow myself to do a mistake.

You are talking like I was an evil man. I'm not, just a normal man, a father, with his fear, his greed, his hope, his love. "

Rinaldo finish to write down the contract,

I, Rinaldo, will...

1... Recover Laynie's body and gives it back to the aspect known as Sin
2... Try to convince the aspects to peacefully merge with the aspect known as Sin.
3... Gives back the items spoken about, taken to the aspect known as Sin.

If any of these points are no fill at the best of Rinaldo abilities...
If Rinaldo or his companion do any hostile acts against Sin and her children...
If Rinaldo or his companion try to destroy the Crux while bound by this contract...

... Rinaldo will surrender his soul to Sin.

This contract ends if Sin's contract is broken or all points of both contract have been fullfil.

I, Sin, will...

1... Restore Ashnar to live
2... Try to return Tenebrynn alive to this time and world.
3... Safely destroy the Crux and neutralize the dangers of the tower.
4... Merge with all other aspects.
5... Release Laynie, at the latest, two months after the Crux have been neutralized.

If any of these points are no fill at the best of Sin abilities...
If Sin or her children do any hostile acts against Rinaldo and his companion...

... Sin will surrender his soul to Rinaldo.

This contract ends if Rinaldo's contract is broken or all points of both contract have been fullfil.

"Once the Crux will have been removed, is two months enough for you to finish biding the others aspects and release Laynie?"

"Two months may or may not be long enough because we don't know how long it will take to get all the Aspects and figure out the process to become myself, so it is not acceptable. It is also unnecessary because of point 4--once I absorb all Aspects and become myself, I'll have a normal body, so it won't even be possible for me to continue possessing Laynie's body. Change the wording slightly from 'Rinaldo and his companions' to 'anyone' on the clause about destroying the Crux--I don't want you summoning a badger, for instance, and having it destroy the Crux while claiming it wasn't one of your companions, or anything else like that, okay? Other than that, I think we're set."

"Anyone is too inclusive. One of your children, you or even the other aspects, which I have no control over it, could summon a creature and do the same. Let's just add that presion:

Any third party not mention in this contract, but acting under the order or the suggestion of a party is considered to be part of it."
suggests Rinaldo

"Uh, duh? Are you forgetting that the Aspects and my children can't actually get to the Crux? I'll be able to once I have Laynie's body, but obviously I'm not going to try to kill myself. If you like, you can add 'except Sin' so it says 'Anyone except Sin', since technically I'll be trying to remove it peacefully, which someone might assume counts."

"I know it sounds stupid, but you told yourself the aspects are not perfectly in control of themselves, and you are all magician, which mean you can all conjure monsters, and seeing you skills in magic, you could probably summon monsters we could not stop.

Also, I don't control the other aspects, or anyone else that can enter this tower. Other adventurer could enter this place and there is no garantee I would be able to stop them. You could easily. Also, trying and being successfull is two things, and I don't want to give my soul because one of your aspects have summon a rat that tried to destory the Crux but he would have known it couldn't be successfull.

You don't want to be tricked, me neither. It's fair game. Anyone but Sin is much too inclusive. I can only garantee what my companions and I will do. And that include none will try to influence, control or suggest a third party to destroy the Crux."

"You do realise that the current contract you already signed that hasn't expired yet will forfeit your soul if anyone tries to destroy the Crux, right? As you can see, none of this trickery has happened yet. I don't want you to lose your soul, Rinaldo. I want you to live and return to your family and live happily ever after. Getting your soul is only insurance against your betrayal. But I can be fair-minded--anyone who finds out about the Crux because of you counts, but not those of whom you are not aware. For example, as you may have guessed, I'll be sending you out of the tower to go find Elpis--obviously, I don't want you telling everyone you meet something like 'By the way everyone, there's a tower with Elayna Valsice trapped in it and you can kill her by destroying the Crux at the top. Not that I want you to do that, mind--I don't want you to do that. I just thought I'd let you know just so you can know'. Is that fair? If not, I can always just not be satisfied, which keeps the current contract in action--then I can look for my journal incarnation and get her to do it, and your friends will not be saved. I deal with you on this because you are convenient and fast seeing as you are right here, not because you are my only option. Keep the terms agreeable, and it will stay convenient. If not, I'm perfectly happy with leaving up the current contract and finding someone else to look for Laynie."

"I realize it, but the wording is too wide. I havn't been cautious on the first one. I do realize my wording have been too narrow for your taste, and 'anyone' was far too wide for mine. If we came here because of the villagers, others could have done the same. Also, as I said, if an unstable aspects, your children or the one hiding, would summon a creature to go destroy the Crux I would not be responsible, except if I suggest, implictely or explicitely, or force it to do so.

My group will be resume to Rinaldo, Vanitri, Hogarth, Ashnar, Tenebrynn and Laynie, as long as we are not force by your party to do something, and also anyone that have come to the knowledge of the Crux by our contact, or anyone acting under our suggestion or control, in that case, it can be one of your aspect that have been manipulated to do something. So if I would taunt Pride to attack me to break the contract, it wouldn't work.

The same would apply to you and your group, who are you and your children (like Pride and Gluttonery) but not other aspects not under your servitude presently (like Joy). So, for example, if anyone of you charm or mind control (like Lust did) one of us, summon a creature to do your biding and force them to attack one fo you so we break teh contract, that wouldn't work, as we have been force.

I know it's detail, but I don't intend to break that contract, and you tell teh same. You do not trust me, I understand and it's fair. But you are aware there is more than us implicated in thsi contract. I'm playing the life of people I have no right over them, so I maek sure to be able to answer to them if they come to know about it."

"Technically, darling, you are only playing with your life. You are gambling that the others will respect that. Regardless, that seems fair, though of course ramifications will apply--by which I mean if you tell person A, who then counts, and person A tells person B, then person B counts too. Fine, that seems tight enough for me, and it's worth it for the convenience. I'll write them up right now for you."

*Sin writes up the contract for Rinaldo to sign. As discussed, they have the wording change on who can attack the Crux, and they have the last bit about the two months removed, since part #4 is sufficient.*
