*There is a soft rumbling, and a silvery metallic form rises out of the ground, looking a bit like a suit of armour or a man made of metal.*

"Why have you come here?" no mouth moves, but a voice comes forth from somewhere, speaking in a soft monotone in Old Medibarian.

"Hi, my name is Rinaldo di Senzio. I'm a friend of two students of your Academy, Laynie Valsice and Vanitri Duskrider. I've learned Laynie would be back here and I would like to talk to her. I would also like to talk to the person responsible to the subscription. I have a son, he is only 5 years old but I would like to learn more about what can be done so he can join the academy. Finally, I'm the owner of two shop of magical item, and I was thinking estblishing some relation with the academy would be something good, both for my business and for possible deals for the academy... well, that's would need some talk, but I'm here for that."

[SBLOCK=OOC]By the way, not a single lie... Rinaldo will take that occasion to possibly subscribe Salvador and to establish business link.[/SBLOCK]

*It stands still for a moment and then pulls open the door with the ring, making a loud grating sound as it pulls open. Then it sinks back down into the ground.*

*Looking in through the door, Rinaldo sees that the Academy complex proper is well-furnished and well-lit, with a double sweeping carpeted stairway leading up to a balconied second level and beyond, a wide hallway leading straight ahead, two smaller hallways to each side, and doors along the halls. Two women and a man in robes, each with a cloak of a different colour, walk down the wide hallway towards them.*

*One of the men, who is wearing a red cloak, speaks in Common:*

"Welcome outlander. In reaching our grounds and opening the door, you have proven that you understand at least a modicum of our ways. I assume that you wish to enroll in the Academy? You're a bit old, I think."

"Studying magic could be a good thing, I would not need to rely on my friends and employee, but I think running my business is enough trouble like that. No, I'm not here to enroll myself, but the reason of my presence are numerous. One of them, it is I have a kid, he is five years old. He would love to become a wizard like her aunt. I was thinking first to give his magical education to the Library of Orussus, but I've heard of the Academy from two of your student, Laynie Valsice and Vanitri Duskrider, and I thought it would be a good thing to take information about the Academy. It seems a great place for him, even if that means not seeing him during his study." explains Rinaldo

"Did you say Valsice?" the man sounds confused, "In any case, you will find that few institutions of higher learning are willing to enroll five-year-olds. We are no exception here. When he's around sixteen, have him come try the entrance examination. Very few can pass it, especially outlanders, but if so, he is welcome to attend."

"No, I didn't thought to start his training now, but I thought in a few years. I thought it was better to start the magical training at early age, somewhere between 8 and 10 years old. The basics of magical manipulation are not easy to understand and even teh simpliest cantrip is hard to memorize and master. Sixteen, isn't that a bit high to start the study of magic?" asks Rinaldo.

"And yes, I told Valsice... well, I think it is her last name, but I might be wrong.... one thing is sure, her first name is Laynie. She is one of your student, and she was clearly not sixteen when she start her study here, but I must tells she is a very bright girl for her age."

"You seem to be mistaken on multiple counts. I know Vanitri Duksrider--I was here when he first set foot in the Academy with that little girl, Laynie. You say she's a student, but she is not, and frankly, you remind me a bit of Vanitri--he was trying to get her accepted here, but as I just told you, she was simply too young. We have let some students in at a slightly younger age when they were exceptionally bright, but this is an Academy of higher learning, not a preschool. I told him to have her come back when she was old enough. He managed to enter the school himself and since he is her legal guardian, she stuck around with him, but she was never a student. Training in controlling the fundamental forces of the universe is extremely dangerous for someone too young--they can hurt themselves or others by mistake, and they often pick up inefficient or improper ways of thinking that shortcut them to a few tricks but make it nearly impossible to teach them the right way--that is why we do not accept students who have already trained in magic before coming here."

(OOC: Do note that the Wizard starting age in the SRD averages at 22, so starting at an older age does make more sense.)

(OOC2: Let's continue here )

(OOC: Alright, now that we've got rid of that pesky Rinaldo and Tenebrynn to their own threads, the silent trio of Hogarth, Vanitri, and Ashna shall rise again!)

*While Vanitri and the former Guile stand vigil on the Crux--well, Guile would prefer that they sit vigil so that she can sit in his lap and get a hug, but they perform vigil in some sort of way--Sin is downstairs attempting another temporal distortion. This one works the first time, and almost without a hitch! Well, there is a hitch, but it was almost without a hitch. Ashna comes back to life, but temporal distortions cause her to age backwards two years, which means that her body is two years younger. And hey, being younger definitely beats being dead.*

OOC: Two years younger? Does that mean he has recover his body he had two years earlier? In other word, is Ashnar a man again? And what did you mean by pesky Rinaldo?

Hogarth arrives in the Crux room. He sits down next to Vanitri. "All this is... I do not know... the word... for that... Complicated? ... Crazy?" as he speaks these lasts words, he looks at his hand. feminine and delicate, far from the rough and strong hand he had when he was human. "Do you... think Rinaldo will be... fine?"
