The Crux of the Matter

OOC: To be honest. I've been curious to know why Rae have posted in that thread (and then remember he was the judge of this whole story), so I take the blame and stop to look at it. But it won't affect my roleplay (like Rinaldo going into the Crux because from what I know from Vanitri's Idyls, it 'seems' safe to do it. At least safer than being in the Crux room and getting blasted by a level 17th wizard with so many spell that don't need line of sight...) Sorry :heh:

Rinaldo takes his potion of cure moderate wounds and make Hogarth heal it.. "Come on Hogarth, we need you on your feet. Heal yourself..."

(like Rinaldo going into the Crux because from what I know from Vanitri's Idyls, it 'seems' safe to do it. At least safer than being in the Crux room and getting blasted by a level 17th wizard with so many spell that don't need line of sight...)

(OOC: That's what I was afraid of--it actually seems much safer to go into the Crux ;) Of course, the fact that I created a thread for them at all implies that, unless we kept posting nothing but "Blah blah blah, let's fool the other players into thinking it's safe by posting nothing" as all our posts

Anyway, at least you were honest. That's good. If you don't routinely do this, it must have been your supreme misfortune that I stumbled on it the one time you did. You see why I have to assume this input (given how rarely I check) to mean that the chance you were checking the inappropriate thread is high, right? It's Bayes's Rule.)

*Hogarth sputters and coughs, and she manages to flutter her eyes open slightly, awakening.*

(OOC: Healed 9, now at 5.
More Ashnaesque goodness now)

Ashna takes a crossbow bolt and tosses it in the general direction of the Crux, but deliberately a bit towards the side so that it likely doesn't hit, with a frown.

*The crossbow bolt ripples in that odd liquid way and then vanishes.*

*Rayne looks and sees that there are no more fireballs heading their way:*

"Good. I would be surprised if she prepared any more Delayed Blast Fireballs. They're not a typical-use spell. They're usually so much worse than Empowered Cone of Cold. Let me try the Crux--"

*She fires a line of sonic energy at the Crux, and since the spell is not a creature or object, it doesn't ripple or vanish. However, just as it is about to hit the Crux, there is a distortion around the crystalline core and Rayne's attack bounces back at her, harming her very slightly.*

"And it reflects magic too?...How do we stop that thing?"

"It...it didn't look like it was destroying that bolt. And Vanitri's in there--maybe he needs my help!"

*Elektra leaps towards the Crux and she ripples and vanishes as well.*

*Laynie just stays with Rayne, looking frightened as the others she know are jumping in and fading away, one by one.*

(OOC: Rinaldo again)

"Elektr..." Rinaldo see the young wizard dissapearing. "What has she done. They might not be killed, but they might be lost in time, or in another planes or worst... isn't there a spell that froze someone in a timeshell and hidden from sight... what's the name of the spell... I don't remember... I just hope they will be ok.

Rayne, what could happen if you try to dispel that item. On a magical item, it generally stop to work, but on material time?"
suggets Rinaldo

During that time, Hogarth prays Gundar, converting his Divination spell into a Cure critical Wounds spell he make on himself. "Ashnar... do you need... healing?" he asks after that.

"At best, it might stop working for a brief time. At worst, something terrible. Probably nothing. I also don't have any more Greater Dispellings prepared today, which increases the chance of nothing."

(OOC: Hogarth picks up 24)
