D&D 5E The Elementalists (FULL)

I should have it done and a background/back story to you by this time tomorrow.

Unless some other idea hits me like a speeding locomotive I'm putting together:

Ranger 3/Fighter 2 for a kind of Gun fighter Probably (90% sure) going to go with Aarocakra but I need to look at Goliath one more time before I finalize that part. The story would fit well for either race. Really any tribal/clan race.

I was going to say, you don't really need the gauntlets if you have a 17 str.

You can have any of them, but you need a 15 str to wear the gauntlets, after racial bonus. Just so you don't go dumping strength for a ton of points. That's a 13 str before racial bonus.

This is just to have it as a starting item. If someone finds gauntlets later, it doesn't matter what their strength is, it works as normal.

Cool I wouldn't of gone lower than a 15 just incase I lose them.

Because of the class, you can be any race but Genasi. So really, it just depends on your concept. And unfortunately, birdmen are still birdmen in my setting.

Wood elves have the same stats. I suppose, if flight is what you were really wanting, I could homebrew an Avariel subclass for the elves. Tiefling trades wings for magic in the tiefling variant, so I could do the same with Avariel and the sub races for the elves. Let's say:

Ability Score Increase: Your Wisdom score increases by 1
Avariel Weapon Training: You have proficiency with the longsword (or rapier), shortsword, longbow and shortbow
Low-Light Vision: Due to Avariel's different nature than other elves, they lose Darkvision and gain Low light Vision
Wings: Gain a flying speed of 50 feet. Cannot be wearing Medium or Heavy armor while flying.

This gives you your bird man without the bird man.

Cool! I like this a lot, thank you! Now, to clarify, what does low-light vision mean in 5e?
For a magic item, I think I could go with a hat of disguise, to hide the wings...
The background would likely be a hermit/outlander blend.
More to come soon!
Thanks again and cheers,

SG

BACKGROUND
[sblock]In the Mesa cliffs we called home we were safe from intruders but there were groups of Gargoyles in the area that we competed with for hunting grounds. We usually which ever group was out numbered flew off.
One day Gargoyles found our nest high in the mesa, we fought them but they stole our eggs and killed several hunters, our claws had a hard time scratching them, arrows bounced off and our spears broke at the shafts when we used them. They were strong, and they were many.
While hunting I had seen the small ones with the furry faces, Dwarves from the Cinderforge clan, shatter the earth while making what they called a railroad. I went to them for help, surely they had a weapon that could help. They traded jewels muskets and pistols. They taught our finest hunters how to use them once we paid hem enough. The firearms helped us fight off the Gargoyles. We now use them to hunt some times but need to keep finding things to trade with the Dwarves to get the ammo needed. So we hunt more and we find ourselves fighting more with other tribes in the area for things to trade.
As one of the best hunters in the tribe I have tried to find new hunting grounds but something is wrong, something has drawn me away from the tribe.[/sblock]
