After much deliberation, I think the thing that I'd like to see most in the new Planescape slipcase is slavery. Loads of slavery. Like, all the slavery.

and yet millions will watch it any way, after seeing untold commercials for shows on WEtv, and the fact that TLC us getting viewers with MILFmanor i have given up all hope in the average tv consumer/watcher.

As a UK resident, I don't even know that all this HBO stuff is about. So like the grammar manual, I shall omit words.

Basically, HBOmax is looking to do a Harry Potter series with each season being a book, at least that's what i'm thinking Gradine is talking about.

This is one of those hate watching type of things ,where some folks will watch it to nit pick any and all choices made and then you'll get a number of indifferent viewers/viewers who don't care about the creator and HBO suits will look at the bottom line, slap each other on the back and call it a day.

EDIT:
Then you'll also get folks who wonder why their preferred setting isn't getting yet another adaptation or even it's first.

Considering how much bank the game made, and how well it did/is doing on twitch i'm honestly not surprised that HBOmax is thinking about it, there's also word that a lego game like Skywalker saga is being developed using the Wizarding world brand.

EDIT II: So mindless/soulless capitalism marches on

Independent of the Harry Potter thing, there was a leveraged buyout of HBO (the premium cable movie channel with a reputation for first rate films and TV shows -- arguably some of the best shows in American history are from there), in which the schlocky reality show company (that used to be a science-focused channel) Discovery bought them out.

To reduce the huge debt they're now saddled with, the new company has been cutting shows left and right, cancelling completed movies like Batgirl and even yanking popular and completed shows off the channel.

Within a year, they've gone from being the obvious best streamer (after working out some early pandemic kinks with their app) to below average and they're apparently not done with the madness yet. Next up, they appear to be about to remove the HBO name from their app, meaning it'll just be called "Max."

🤷‍♂️
