What would be snarky about the flavor of porters and stouts? I’ll take them any day over an overly floral pale ale (whether American or India).
I like porters and stouts just fine. I also like IPAs and APAs and DIPAs just fine. Also barleywines, wee heavies, dubbels, tripels, quardupels. Not to mention Pilsners and bocks (including but not limited to doppelbocks and maibocks) as well as schwarzbiers, dunkels, and helles lagers; also the rauchbier versions of many of those. And I almost forgot all the wheatbeers--witbiers, hefeweizens, dunkelweizens, weizenbocks (and I guess wheatwine would be here ...)

That's basically just about everything but sours, which is about right. I never could get the hang of those.

The like button just stopped offering other choices when held down, it pops up the usual kind of menu for links... Same for anyone else? (Before I go to meta to report it?)
I get the pop-up on mouse-over, as usual--which doesn't rule out any weirdness you might be experiencing, of course.

When you know that a thread likely has attracted one of the people you set on ignore, and you get confirmation, is it a sense of validation, or more dismay that they are still allowed to continue with their dubious and/or gross lines of discussion.

Yes.

It's funny, now that I've been on D&D Forums for while, I've developed some kind of super power:

now. when someone post a link to an OSR blog, I can automatically predict what I'll find within before even opening the link!

Pretty good, right?
