I think most games end up putting some limits on transmogrification, for various reasons. My wife regularly chafes against the restrictions on cloth-wearing characters in WoW, for instance.

In this case, I wanted to make a Jedi "droid" called 5CR-CR0 ('scarecrow") that looked as much as possible like a mannequin dressed in a trench coat and wide-brimmed hat. But none of the available armor options had a General Grievous-style completely robotic look to them - no matter how cyborg-y they were, there was always at least one or more limbs that were still human, and helmets/hats/faceplates/glasses all take up the same item slots...

I'm starting to think there are people on this board who not only don't actually play RPGs, they don't even like RPGs. They're just here to make sure we know how miserable they are.

Which, OK, it's cheaper than therapy, but I'm still putting you on ignore.

Hell. send em to me - I'll act like I'm listening to them, and then charge them a reasonable rate...

Well, there's those people.

There are also the people that dislike game X, but like game Y.

Trouble is, almost no one talks about Y. So instead, they go into threads about X, and then just start trashing game X by using examples from game Y in order to turn the conversation to game Y. Until, eventually, no one is talking to them anymore.

And then they repeat with another thread. Which makes you wonder- why not just talk about game Y?

Especially when game Y, in the case of a few posters that immediately come to mind, has an entire subforum dedicated to it..

But... Why isn't the whole forum dedicated to game Y‽‽‽ Everybody else can have a small subforum dedicated to game X! Game Y is objectively better, by which I mean I like it more...
"Look, the thing people don't understand about Game Y is that not only were the mechanics better, the storytelling was much more nuanced as well! Consider the lore about dragons..."

"Sir, this is a Wendy's."

Lately I've had people come to me asking me to run D&D 5e. I'm not doing that right now. I'm running weirdo stuff.

That's the point. Its easy to find players for D&D, at least the current version. Other things can require considerably more heavy lifting (and probably does more often than not).
