OOC: Corragan's an Elf, so everyone within 5 of her gets +1 Perception, don't forget

Curiosity overcoming his caution, (almost any of Ignatz's impulses overcome his caution) Ignatz steps into the hallway, and goes right as Rilissa goes left. He sidles past the purple crystal, and peers around the corner, seeing if there's anything to see. The mist severely limits his vision, but his sharp ears and flaring nostrils might give him some other sign. If there's nothing he can detect, he creeps further down the corridor.

[sblock=Actions]Move: Walk->U4
Minor: Perception to hear or smell anything that I can't see due to mist: 14, lower than Passive Perception, unfortunately.
Move: full speed down the hallway, to P3 if it's a straight line, which I doubt[/sblock]

Sha'kar follows the others, making his way into the intersection and looking back and forth between the two hallways, trying to sense anything magical in either direction.

[sblock="Actions"]Move to U6
Arcana Check - 17[/sblock]
OOC: Edit: Just remembered my 13 roll on my appease the crowd, so that arcana check should actually be -2 for a 17.

Match Two: The Jade Tomb, Round 1

GM: It took everyone a move action to reach the top of the stairs, so everyone didn't get as far as they stated. Everyone must finish their actions for the first round before the next round gets underway.

As stated in the Appease the Crowd rules, the DCs do NOT reset between matches.

Ignatz looks around the corner, seeing a hallway that disappears into the mist. Rilissa sees that the hallway stretches on past the nearby doorway.

Sha'kar notices that the mists are magical, produced by the crystals set into the walls.

Somewhere, a muffled, echoing wail arises from some distant place in the tomb. It suddenly cuts out, then comes back, then cuts out again, each time seemingly closer than the last. Then, suddenly, an insubstantial, wispy, wailing figure flies out of the wall and attacks Rilissa, slamming into her with surprising force.

[sblock=Enemy Actions]Jade Ghost: Move. Charge to U9(phasing), Spectral Touch(+1 charge): 26 vs Rilissa's 14 Fort, hit, 5 force damage and slowed(save ends).[/sblock]

[sblock=Combatants]-Party-
Corragan: T5, 28/28hp
Sha'kar: U6, 30/30hp
Rilissa: U8, 22/27hp, slowed
Ignatz: U3, 30/30hp
Dina: S5, 24/24hp

-Enemy-
Jade Ghost:
Jade Ghost(Undead): Minion. AC 19, Fort 16, Ref 18, Will 18. MBA: +8 vs Fort, 5 force damage and slowed(save ends). If the target is slowed already, the attack does +2 damage and the target is immobilized(save ends) instead of slowed. Spectral Resistance(Free, when reduced to 0 hp): The Jade Ghost makes a saving throw. On a success, the Jade Ghost gains 1 hp.

Effect Key: location, hp/max hp, damage related, TenT or TsnT, conditional, save ends, encounter[/sblock]

[sblock=Terrain, UPDATED]Stairs: The stairs take a move action to ascend (enter the map) or descend (leave the map).

Walls: The walls are fairly rough, DC 18 to climb. The arena is 2 squares tall with a forcefield shimmering over the top to keep the gladiators (read: you) in the arena.

Hallways: Hallways contain a mist that is light obscurement; anything 2 or more squares away is concealed, anything beyond has total concealment (can't be seen).[/sblock]

[sblock=Special Rules][sblock=Appease the Crowd]
*As a minor action, a PC may make a skill check to wow the crowd. If they succeed at the check, they gain +2 to their next d20 roll if they beat the DC, plus +2 per 5 by which they beat the DC. If the check is failed, the PC takes a -2 penalty to their next d20 roll, -2 more per 5 by which they miss the DC.

I.E, if the DC is 15, 1-5 would be -6, 6-10 would be -4, 11-14 would be -2, 15-19 would be +2, etc.

*All skill DCs will start at 15 and each individual skill's DC goes up by 2 per time the skill is used as the crowd gets more jaded. The DCs go up at the end of the round in which they are used. The DCs do not drop between arena rounds.

*Any skill can be used, as long as the player can provide relevant character action to back up the roll.

Current Skill DCs:
Athletics: 17
Heal: 17
History: 17
Perception: 17
Others: 15[/sblock]

[sblock=The Jade Tomb]Treasures: To win, the group must find, collect, and escape with the three treasures.[/sblock][/sblock]

OOC: I realized later while I was reading Team Gil's Conscious' thread that this was the case. In this instance, it didn't change anything.
"The mists are magical, they're coming from the crystals in the walls," Sha'kar informs the others.

After being hit by the ghost, Rilissa returns a swing, narrowly missing the ghost in return. She deftly traces an arcane sigil in the mist, marking the creature against harming her companions without retribution, then teleports past to open up movement room to her fighting friends.

Now everyone is up the stairs Corragan steps through the doorway. Hearing Rilissa curse under her breath, she looks to her left, peering through the mists, and heads that way to investigate. The mists clouded his vision, and it was a moment before he spotted the ethereal creature before them, attacking Rilissa. Stopping short in suprise, Corragan summons another flaming bird to strike the creature.

OOC: @Iron Sky Can you clarify this:

Hallways: Hallways contain a mist that is light obscurement; anything 2 or more squares away is concealed, anything beyond has total concealment (can't be seen).

I want Corragan to move so he's at the maximum distance where the ghost is concealed but not totally concealed. I'm not sure if that's 2 squares away, or more?

[sblock=Actions]Move to U5
Standard Action: Fire Hawk attack: Base +5, Appease the Crowd bonus +6, Light Obscurement -2 = +9 attack vs. Reflex[/sblock]
[sblock=Stats]Corragan - Elf Druid (Unaligned) Level 1

HP 28 Bloodied 14 Surge Value 7; Surges Per-Day 7
AC 16 Fortitude 11 Reflex 14 Will 16

Speed 8; Size Medium
Str 13 (+1), Dex 16 (+3), Wis 20 (+5)
Con 11 (+0), Int 10 (+2), Cha 8 (-1)

AP: 1, Second Wind: Unused

The Hawk strikes down at the ghost, tearing into it. It fades, then starts to reappear, apparently unharmed by the attack.

OOC: If it does anything that would provoke, then I can make an additional attack with the Fire Hawk.
