And for what it's worth, yeah, this episode is filler. It invents a problem for the characters to overcome, which they do by the end of the episode, leaving them in the same position they were before the problem was invented.

They're doing same thing as MCU. You don't need to watch all of it but if you have you'll notice the easter eggs.

If I had to guess everything's very broadly is linked. They reference events from other media but it's not required to watch all of it.

I haven't seen all of the MCU but still followed the main plot easy enough.

It's just going to be a shared universe I suppose.

I will only be happy when one of the Freemakers makes an appearance. One of them has Jedi powers, after all.

On a side note, lost in all the other announcements, but season 3 of The Mandalorian will not debut until Christmas 2021. So an extra month and a half to have to wait.

That seemed fairly obvious. Pirates don't blow up their cargo.

Whether they're "good" or not is a trickier point. There was a throwaway line from Mayfield that they don't care whether it's Imperials or New Republic - anyone coming to their planet is a trespasser as far as they're concerned. But certainly, they're the guys-opposed-to-the-Empire-mining-their-planet.

I don't know. The "pirates" were some alien race, while the people in the settlement they had to drive through looked mainly human. That leaves the question at who are the natives?

Onscreen yes, off screen no.

Only difference is Imperial Remnant (legends) vs Imperial Remnants (canon).

At least according to the wiki which sources the novels, comics etc. And AFAIK I don't buy the new canon stuff.

Just watched it. Boba Fett coming out in his freshly painted armour was awesome. The break in for information was pretty cool, great episode all round I think.

I also think we got a reference to the First Order in there during the talk in the officer's mess, when the officer said something to the effect of in the end everyone wants order.
