The mandalorian [Spoilers]

I enjoyed the mood and look of the episode, plus it was fun to see a live action Ahsoka. But the writing was the weakest in this entire season. A few things bothered me:

There was no tension or conflict. There was never any doubt that Mando would work together with Ahsoka, or that either one of them was in any danger. Some sort of conflict between Mando and Ahsoka would really have given this episode some stakes.
Let me state this very simply: There wasn't supposed to be any conflict between them. He was looking for her to take custody of the child he's very fond of, and she's not too stupid to recognize a child of Yoda's race. You're asking for a bunch of needless crap to be added for some manufactured drama. This episode was about relationships, not conflict. All the conflict was for was to be a vehicle for narration.

Nothing wrong with relating characters to RPG stats. 🤷‍♂️
Yes, there is. It would be utterly stupid to try and force a narrated character in to a two-dimensional rule set. That would completely hamstring writing a good story. "Hey, what if we had _______ do this here?" "Sorry Joe, I don't think _______ could have any levels in (class) to have that skill and still be at the current levels we've already established."

Game rules are mechanical structure for games at a table. Characters operate largely under the Rule of Cool.

RPG stats for onscreen characters in an off topic section on a geek rpg board lol.

Good luck with that.

Even if you don't like Mandalorian it's a stretch to say that's thread crapping.

Not sure about you but it's unlikely everyone will like it.
Talk stats in the game rules sections then, this is about the story, not the stats/levels.

No it's about the Mandalorian. I guess that includes stats if people wanna go there.

Report it to a mod if you feel the need. I suspect they'll laugh at you but hey that's what the report button is for.

I like the RPG stats discussion. Please continue it. I am sure people who don't like it can find a place to talk about the show which isn't an RPG site if it really bugs them that much.

On an RPG site? Yup.

What an odd complaint. There have been multiple Star Wars RPGs over the years, that published stats for various "narrated characters". Many RPGs beyond Star Wars as well, including D&D.

No one is suggesting the writers of the Mandalorian think of their characters in terms of RPG stats, or did I miss something. As I said, your complaint is odd.
