The mandalorian [Spoilers]

Given that they've already pulled in Dark Troopers and what seems to be a variant upon the Imperial Remnant's attempts to create Force-infused soldiers from the Dark Forces / Jedi Knight series, I've got to consider Kyle Katarn a serious contender as the Jedi who shows up for Grogu.

Yeah I don't think Kyle Katarn will turn up but it wouldn't surprise me.

I think the season will end with some reveals or whatever. Things teased at like taking back Mandalore will be another season.

Wouldn't surprise me if the Empire Strikes back to establish the new troopers as a threat. Gideon has a fleet, if Thrawns in command of it that could be a season right there.

They might kill Gideon off but then Thrawn takes over and the series cliffhanger is a win for the Imperial Remnant.

Yeah, maybe Kyle Katarn, but I still think a video game character is unlikely.

It's also possible Mando doesn't even make it to Tython this season. Could be something that gets put off till later.

I hope they don't kill off Gideon this soon, since we've barely got to see anything of him. But I think having the season end on a victory for the bad guys would be a great way to finally raise the stakes. This goes back to my previous point that I think they need to establish the villains better as a credible threat, since the main character seems invincible.

I agree. Not just because of timeline and story plot issues, but because of how they would have to CG Mark Hamill to be much younger, which Star Wars is proven to not be good at doing, (for some strange reason. Disney owns both Marvel and Star Wars, so why couldn't they get the same people who did Samuel L. Jackson in Captain Marvel for Rise of Skywalker?)

If they did do Mace Windu, Samuel L. Jackson would actually be about the right age for how old Mace Windu would be at this time.

These movies (both Star Wars and the Marvel movies) are so big that they always have multiple effects studios working on them to finalize all the effects shots. Plus it also matters if the director knows how to film with special effects in mind, and what techniques are used on set to help the process along. For that reason it is not always going to look the same.

The de-aging on Samuel L. Jackson in Captain Marvel was one of the few times where de-aging actually looked convincing, which is an incredible feat. But I think movies shouldn't rely on this technology so much, because most of the time it just looks incredibly jarring. It is so much simpler to simply cast a new actor in the part. There was no reason for example to do de-aging on Johnny Depp in the last Pirates of the Caribbean movie, when they could have simply cast a young look-alike. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade managed just fine by casting a young actor in the role of young Indy during the opening flashback.

No, no, no, no. We don't want another Snoke and Palpatine situation. This bad guy better stick around for some time.

Yeah Gideon needs to stick around imho.

There's a season there for him and Thrawn each and Mandalore could be worked into it or another season.

A cliffhanger would also work with someone dying to the super troopers, and Thrawn plus fleet turns up.

It's also possible that Thrawn won't show up in this series at all. That could just be a way for Ahsoka to get her own live-action spin-off series, which would be pretty awesome in itself.

Another reason to have Gideon stick around longer, is because the show needs some good actors like Esposito to balance out some of the other weaker actors on the cast. You want a really strong actor to do some of the heavy lifting and carry the show.

One does not exclude the other. They can have Thrawn make an appearance while using this as a springboard for a spin off show with Ahsoka where Thrawn also appears.

True. Guess we will have to keep watching. Fett reveal is more for a spin off imho this not sure about.

Absolutely! At this point, there are a lot of possibilities.

And yes, I would like Moff Gideon to stick around for a while. And I would like to see him use the darksaber in a fight (or to murder a subordinate), not just to cut himself free from his crashed TIE fighter. ;)
